Aztalan State Park

Address: N6200 County Rd Q, Jefferson, WI 53549, USA

Park

“I visited Aztalan, for the very first time, on the first day of this new year. It was very chilly. What a fascinating place, with posters sharing valuable information about the mounds, the tools the Aztalan peoples used, their lifestyle, history, etc. You can circle all the way around the park to learn about the Aztalan peoples and see the Crawfish River, while you're at it. The wooden poles form a fence almost all the way around - showing you the premises in which the Aztalan peoples lived inside. There are wooden poles sectioning off into squares that look like they might've been storehouses/housing at some point. I think that the walls were covered in clay, at one point. It's interesting because the space is so quiet and peaceful. Suddenly, one day, the Aztalan civilization disappeared. It's said that, perhaps, they moved to Cahokia. There's no actual answer. Therefore, this place is quite mysterious. It's a fantastic place to visit for seeking clarity. The air is so pure and the atmosphere is so simple and plain.”

“I live in Milwaukee and we have some nice dog parks but the Teri Tinsley park bypasses ALL of them! Not only is it beautiful but it is very well maintained. My dog Maggie LOVES it! It's worth the 45 minute drive to let her run in such a beautiful park!!”

Terri Tinsley Dog Exercise Area

Address: W5098 Canine Dr, Johnson Creek, WI 53038, USA

Park

“I love the atmosphere and the size of this park. There's a huge area with woods and all for bigger dogs to run and walk off leash. There's also two smaller areas for small dogs and older dogs to run as well. It is a wonderful place which attracts a very kind helpful crowd and the amenities are great too. Super helpful and super great place to take any dog that has an abundance of energy and needs a place to let off steam as well as being absolutely beautiful for their humans as well.”
