Kinnickinnic State Park

Want to go for a nice beach and trail , this is one of the beautiful park to visit. We loved the picture perfect beach and wonderful opportunity for fishing. Trails and hiking opportunities are fine here. The way to beach is wonderful that never seen in any other park. True fall colors around . Take a rest in the lap of nature.

First time at this small park that requires an entrance fee or WI State Park annual pass. We hiked the red trail from the 770th Ave on a week day morning and it was well worth it. Crosses prairie into woods high on the bluff above the Kinnikinnick River. It was hard to see the river from the lookout due to all the trees. The trail was single track through the woods, which is just what my dogs and I love. The trees were beginning to turn. This is also a mountain bike trail, so you would need to remain very aware on the single track at busier times. We then drove into the park by the main entrance, and encountered a noisy flock of guinea fowl (wandered from a nearby farm?). It should be noted that pets are only allowed at one small picnic area near the sledding hill.

The most beautiful beach we have been here around minnesota/wisconsin. But it’s quite a slope to the beach. almost like 45 degrees. Climbing back that up in a hot day might not be very fun. Not supposed to have pets in the beach but there were many. The beach area was very busy with boats but still the view was breathtaking and the water was clear. loved the hiking trails too. the ground weed layer of the trails made it special.
