A walk in the park.
Nice small park with great views of the lake.
Nice park. Dogs love to swim at that beach.
Another of Racines Beautiful sandy beaches. This ones quite small. In a Wake Free Zone for boaters. It's plants are naturally refurbished as it originally was. It's to be part of the Trail going all around Lake Michigan.
Racine has turned what was once just an old mucky forgotten Lake Michigan beach front into a wonderful established wetland. This is on the inside of the South breakwater so it's protected from the lake. They added a boardwalk through the area with benches for viewing and informative plaques along the way. It's a very lovely place to walk through as well just sit on one of the benches and take it all in.
Racine also erected a large pavilion/ gazebo above the wetland area in Myers Park. There is a Butterfly Garden planted next to it with information on Monarch Butterflies posted on a plaque there.
Myers Park is a lovely little park with trees planted in memory of loved ones along with pretty evergreens overlooking the wetland trail and Lake Michigan's calmer breakwater.
There are a couple of paths through the park, one leading from the gazebo to the parking area. Another leads from the parking lot to the stairs leading down to the wetland boardwalk.
For people who don't know, this is the small park just South of Gateway, down the hill on Pershing Blvd.
