I discovered this location through a friend. I have really worked hard to find the right mix of support and information. Not every therapist is good about helping a person understand and own their mental health. Mine is now. It's been a huge help for me.
Their therapy was solidly there for my family and I in the time following my mother’s death. She was taken from us way too young. None of us, my brother, my sister or my father were handling it well. The funeral director actually recommended Family Tree. At first none of us were open to it but my sister had a change of heart and encouraged us all to give it a shot. We were matched with a fantastic grief counselor and though we will miss my mom horribly forever, we are all dealing with the tragedy more effectively and supporting each other.
It makes me feel like a failure to have to admit that my son tried to take his own life not once but multiple times. A parent’s love just cannot fix everything no matter how intense that love is. When I say that Family Tree saved my son’s life, it is not an exaggeration. He slowly made his way back to the healthy individual I remember as a little boy.
I’m writing this not only to commend Family Tree but to recommend them to anyone who is suffering. I truly hope somebody who can use a little help reads this and gets their help. They gave me so much support and great advice when I needed it. To know that somebody else might have an experience similar to mine would mean so much to me.
My Family Tree counselor is not my first experience with a counselor. I have seen quite a few and to be fair, talking to all of them made me feel better while I was talking to them but none really made a difference for me once I was outside of whatever facility they worked out of. This is the first time I actually feel as if I am making some headway so I have to attribute that to the best counselor I have experienced.
