“Spacious lot for parking. Good place to go south on the IAT Monches Segment or north on the IAT Loew Lake Segment. I hiked north this time and was in awe of its beauty and diversity. The trail winds through a variety of ecosystems. I saw several deer, or perhaps the same deer four times. The trail is well-maintained and easy to follow. There are plenty of spaces with benches to stop and take in the scenery. I would highly recommend starting this trail early so you have more time to slow down or stop and enjoy your surroundings.”

“This was a great place for a leisurely kayak. You follow a nice wide path up stream to Loew Lake. The route there was your typical marsh with cattails and reeds. The water flow is almost unnoticeable. There was a ton of wildlife to see. The water in the lake was very clean. The stream was pretty mucky. I do not recommend getting off your boat into the water at any point before the lake. We passed several others going to and from the lake. My gps clocked just over 6 miles round trip. It was very easy to do in an afternoon. The landing was easy to launch in. Some others used the small path to the water closer to where you could park, but I recommend using the actual boat launch and walking to your vehicle across the bridge.”

“What a lovely place to visit. Church services are offered at two different levels. There is a preliminary deck for some beautiful views for miles around. There's also a tower consisting of approximately 170 steps that can be climbed to get expanded views for many many miles around. If you opt for the tower, please be mindful of those coming up and down the stairs because it is extremely narrow and cannot accommodate multiple people walking up and down at the same time in portions of the staircase. Bring your patience and enjoy the gorgeous view from the top. Fall colors are breathtaking, so it's a great time to visit. Be prepared for steep climbs; however, for those who are physically limited, there are also elevators available to get up to the viewing deck as well as either first or second level for mass services. I would recommend visiting both levels. There is also a large gift shop with a variety of wonderful options to select for everyday, and holiday gift-giving as well as special occasions such as christenings, weddings, Etc. You will also find a small Cafe, But be sure to check for hours because it's not always available. There are also food vendors on the property as well as ample parking, though be prepared to park at the large lot which then requires a walk up a relatively steep driveway to reach the basilica. For visitors with physical limitations, it's best to pull up to the upper landing right in front of the entrance to the gift shop. The entry where the gift shop is located has restrooms to the left and slightly down the hall to the right you will find elevators. If you plan a visit for Sunday services, please just remember it will be quite busy. This beautiful Basilica/property is so worth the trip!”

“This is my all-time favorite breakfast and burger place. It is like something from the past emerging out of the mist of time. Wonderful informal atmosphere. Low prices. Friendly efficient and attentive service. A place where local people come to chat with each other and with the staff, which consists of the owner, her family, and one or two others who expertly work the grill behind the counter. The burgers are amazing. Just the right amount of fresh beef on a delicious grilled soft bun. When I ordered a burger with mushrooms, Swiss cheese, fried onions, and bacon, more of the extras fell out as I was eating it than the whole amount that comes with most burgers. When I came back a couple of days later for an egg burger, the sunny side up egg I asked for was perfectly done. The chicken noodle soup was also excellent. I only wish I didn't live 2,000 miles away from the place. I will miss it.”
