Nice looping trails of various lengths...let's you walk from one parking lot to the other. We did the ice age trail to the beach. Great workout.
It was more than adequate parking here at the Pike Lake State Park hiking trail parking lot head. There's also an Ice Age Trail segment that goes Northeast out of this parking lot. There are also Ice Age Trail campsites just to the north of the parking area.
There is a porta-potty maps and directional signage so you can enjoy your visit hiking the rolling Terrain. This is also the parking spot so that you can go View the 60-foot power from the top and see The Kettle Moraine area.
You need hiking boots because the trails are rugged. Bring your binoculars if you go to the Tower and you'll be able to see many miles in all directions.
There is also a new gravel trail design for bicycling all the way to the campground next to this parking lot. This Trail we'll take you all the way into the city of Hartford.
Happy trails to you
Beautiful, quiet, nature-lover place BUT terrible directories!! The signs are confusing. People get lost on the trails, including us. There are marker posts, but not clear. Some trails have NO marker....so you might get lost.
Great place for dog. Tower was strong and well made.
I like this place. Will definitely come back.
My opinion trails are superior to Lapham peak. Brown trail and awesome 4 mile trail run. A bit of a trek to get to the observation tower. Good parking and easy to find off highway 60.
