Great place to swim but be aware of the deep drop offs since it is a quarry. There's a nice path to walk all the way around the quarry. Fishing pier, dog swimming area, rentals. The swimming area has a big raft to jump off. Sometimes lifeguards are there, it's hit or miss in my opinion. Nice little playground area too. The concession stand is closed but the bathroom and showers are open. You have to pay $6 for a day pass if you are just coming to swim for the day. Awesome campgrounds as well. Horseback riding trails. So much wonderful space for everyone to enjoy!
Not a bad spot never been there went with a girlfriend of mine and her two kids. Lots of people but well its summer and hot lol. They had a indoor restroom pavilion type thing a beer tent not sure thats a norm grills and lots of trash receptacles on duty life guards and camping apparently. And lots more.
Love this park! We often beach, hike, scenic drive here. But recently used the camp grounds and fishing spots. It was a great experience and so much to offer so close to home! Highly recommend investing in the yearly pass (to all Waukesha County Parks) for $35.
Very nice park. I camped here this past weekend (for the memorial day). Reserved a group campsite and enjoy the setting. Overall pretty good experience, but I was made aware that group sites only allow up to 3 tents, then there was a fee ($14) extra for each unit that is placed on the site. This sort of defeats the whole purpose of a GROUP SITE and while I am supportive of helping out the park system, we spent over $200 on firewood along this weekend and, I camp almost 6-7 times a year using the Waukesha Park System so this sort of inconvenient. I do want to mention that the park ranger approached me kindly and did only made me aware. He did not collect the fee, which was appreciated. I would have paid if needed but he was understanding. They also recently added a dog park, soon to be open. Looking forward to more improvements.
There are alot of hiking trails good for bicycles too. Fishing spots around the quarry to catch bass or trout. The beach should be open soon.
