I've been going there for, well, decades now. I was also surprised by the earlier poor review, but I figured it was someone who didn't understand that "come on in" means "I can help you right now while one customer sits under the dryer and my next customer arrives in 45 minutes". Joan is the owner, and her staff has been consistent all these years. They will cut and style anyone's hair, but yes, they definitely cater to the elderly crowd, and they do check on elderly customers who don't show up for appointments to make sure all is ok. I wouldn't still be going there if I wasn't impressed with what they do.
I was very surprised to read the first review. It sounds like there must have been a miscommunication. I have been going to Accents on Hair Design for about six years. I, too, have long hair and each time I go, I get it cut and highlighted. It always looks more hip than me and beautiful when I leave. I have never been consistently happier with any other person who has done my hair. And by the way, her name is Carol.
