“Even with our group deciding not to ride the train, it was really cool. The historical trains were very well maintained and it was crazy to see how far we’ve come. The museum itself was completely free and we spent a good hour just exploring the multiple buildings filled with historic items, trains, and tracks.”

“We had a family reunion on the grounds. Didn't use the pavilion. But we could have but it was such a nice day of 78 degrees. Easily put 60 people in the pavilion. Beautiful view of the Mississippi River. Could use a little more parking area if you a bigger party venue.”

“Very neat little museum and the older two who were running it really liked to talk about the stuff. Really enjoyed the different rooms seeing how the classrooms would be setup. Theres more about the community as well so theres stuff about WW2 and it's residents who fought in the war. Be sure to check it out! They're only open a couple days a week and a few hours so be sure to call first.”

“We were here for a bday party. I wish it would have been around when my friends and myself were little. We would have been all over their little grocery store/bank and science lab area. Not to mention the art area. It really is a wonderful idea to have this for the baraboo and surrounding communities for our young children”

“My 2 granddaughters (ages 4 & 6) were so excited to go on this new adventure! It was a cloudy, rainy afternoon but the train ride didn’t disappoint! It was actually a great way to spend a wet day. The views were great near and far. The girls loved crossing the river on the trestle bridge, loved waving to hikers and others standing nearby waving back and loved passing by the farm with cows, chickens and pigs. On the way home one of the girls drew a picture of our fun trip. I would highly recommend a train ride adventure.”

“Love going to the pop up craft markets in here. It's a fun building with a working pot belly stove that cranks it out in winter. Wish there were even more events here! Definitely off the beaten path, look for the signs on the through streets when it's open.”

“We had such an amazing tour! Our guide was super informative and engaging. My daughter was really interested in “the Schuyler sisters” so she told us a lot about the daughters and incorporated references to Hamilton throughout the tour. She was also incredibly knowledgeable about the enslaved people living and working there, and brought their names and stories into the tour as well. The grounds are beautiful and we were able to have a picnic lunch before our tour. A definite must-see!!!”

“Redesigned Public Park. Beautiful playground. Zipline is fun for older kids. Bathrooms were locked so couldn't get in there and look at them. Very nice pavilion. Great walking trails. Really nice park. Has a splash pad, but we visited in October so it was turned off.”

“Not our first visit to this wonderful, beautiful, informative museum. Reading about the history and seeing the bikes from the beginning is awesome. To see all the parts, engines, fuel tanks, pins, everything is incredible! Covid compliant. Would have appreciated place to sit down for a moment. Friendly, knowledgeable, and informative staff.”

“This is a great place to catch a sunset and take a walk through the prairie. In the summer there are chickens to visit and it's always fun looking at the old farm equipment on the lawn. Once Covid breaks, this park hold great events for families like Heritage Fest and Halloween on the Farm. At Christmas, there's usually a holiday tea in the house that is always nice. The farmhouse has a working wood stove that is used to teach people how to cook the old fashioned way.”

“A gem of a place unexpected on the busy corner of Pilgrim and hwy Q! Their seasonal beer garden (Saturdays only) has a great setup for beer and a light menu. Live bands and a variety of seating or BYO chairs and blankets. Fun interactive toys for the kids (life size Lincoln logs!) set among trees and fields for them to run and explore. Also makes for a great place for family pictures (must get license) and historical events put on by the society.”

“Awesome time. Well worth the 40 bucks. Crew couldnt be more friedly. It is kinda weather dependent. I wish they were more willing to go out in the choppy waters more to feel the water under you more. I saw a few sea sick looking people so I understand why they dont but I'd like it. Do it if you interested”
