“Let me start by saying that Leslie and her team are AMAZING! Also, I need to beg forgiveness for not sharing this review right after my wedding a year ago. My wedding was a small one so we decided to center it around a coursed meal, prepared at my folks’ home by a personal chef. We chose The Travelling Cafe based on a variety of factors including flavors and menu options, price within our budget, flexibility, and the fact that they were available for our date (we planned a little bit last-minute), and I am so glad we picked them! Leslie and her team went above and beyond to work with us on a coursed meal (5 courses, not including appetizers), signature cocktail, a variety of appetizers, AND a wedding cake! It was all delicious and beautiful, and they served us and our guests (11 total including us) in a professional, courteous, and knowledgable manner. I would not hesitate to work with Leslie and the Travelling Cafe for another event. If I lived in the area, I would also absolutely go to one of the cooking classes they offer! My husband and I just thawed out the top of our wedding cake (lemon/lavender chiffon) this week for our first anniversary, and somehow, even a year later, the flavors were still vibrant and delicious.”

My wife got the cauliflower crust Buffalo Chicken and it was a great thin crispy crust with just the right balance of heat in the buffalo sauce. They do have a seating area but I’d consider this place strictly a takeout place. They have weekend specials as well such as afghani chicken biryani. They also have some snacks and mango lassi for your sides. My personal favorite is the Mongolian trio... yummy in my tummy for sure but this time I ordered food for a special someone and as I already know what he likes from this place I went and ordered him an individual plate of Mongolian trio with a noodles instead of the brown rice. On the side I ordered the sweet and sour soup with a spring roll. Now, my review will be based on the delivery as I ordered through the Yelp site. The time in preparation did not take too long as it was showing it would be delivered an hr and ten mins from order and it took about 40 minutes. Food arrived nice and warm ready to eat. Obviously as it was what the special person likes it so flavor wise it was as expected delicious. The sweet and sour soup was not something he would order but the spring roll he did like. I am going to admit that after the photo of the food was sent I was craving it! I will definitely have to stop by in person and have some of their food, also a little FYI in person plating is always better but you gotta visit in order to know what I mean. “I asked my neighbor for a pizza place that delivers to Pekin, since I don't live here full time. He said Tallarico was good. So I called and ordered the Ultimate pack, a medium pizza and 10 wings. It was supposed to be $25. It turned out to be $26.39 plus $2 for an extra ingredient? I wasn't aware of the $5.09 delivery fee, such an odd amount. So with tax, it was $35.75 and I gave him a generous a 30% tip because I didn't have to go out and get it! I got a pepperoni and onion pizza and 10 mild wings. I had no idea that they don't put much sauce on. I think I was craving pizza for the vitamin C in the tomato sauce, which was very sparce as others have noted. They told me 45 minutes. He was at my door almost EXACTLY 45 minutes later! 😻 The wings were HOT but sadly, the pizza only mildly warm. 😿 I wasn't overjoyed with the amount of pepperonis but not upset either. The quantity of onions left much more to be desired. I was happy with the amount of cheese on it! I REALLY like cheese and didn't even think too make it'extra'. Thankfully, I didn't have to!🥰 Even just warm, it tasted good. Yet, I would have liked a few tablespoons more of sauce. I don't like sloppy pizza where the toppings fall off in the box, but a little extra so it's not all baked into the crust is best. The wings were great! Oh yeah, there's no substitute for true Buffalo wings! They just don't know how to make proper wings in Colorado! Deliciously crispy skin on the outside with delightfully juicy meat on the inside! You have to get the traditional boned wings here in NY! In Colorado, you get bone out because they're just glorified chicken nuggets tossed in seasoning! But I forgot, that here in NY they come with blue cheese dressing and not ranch dressing with celery and carrots on the side, as we do in Denver. My bad on that one! All in all, I enjoyed the food! I would have liked if napkins came with it. That's another east/west difference I suppose too. At least I know what to ask for on my next order!! I thought it was a little on the pricy side since it didn't comform to their posted price. They should have disclosured the odd amount delivery fee, which was going to be paid but I'd like notice that it was built in. I paid by credit card upfront so I could include the tip and not have to do it at the time of delivery. Apparently, Franco's is big in Tonawanda but I thought this pizza tasted better. Being out in Pekin, where food delivery restaurants are a little scarce, I'm happy to find a good one that has other items I'll be ordering in the future! And, if my siblings start acting like human beings, maybe I'll even invite them back to grandma's house for a pizza party!!! A certain VERY HOT place might have to have the ice blizzard of the millennia for THAT to EVER happen, however! Life's too short, order pizza instead!”
