I had a wonderful time learning about the Koran and Mohammed and Jesus, peace be upon them, from their teachings. I asked some very good questions and the Muslims their were very friendly in their responses. Everyone there had a loving heart and attitude that gave me an entire new perspective and understanding on the Muslim people and culture that I wouldn't of had unless I had experienced it for myself. “Darul Uloom Institute- What can I say! Wonderful khutbas (lectures,sermons) by Shaikh Shafayat Mohammed- formerly Maulana Shafayat Mohammed on a Friday afternoon, then you read Salaatul Jumaah, socialize, get a bite to eat (biryani, Kentucky Fried Chicken- or as Uncle Azad Ali puts it- Darul Uloom Fried Chicken (DFC) Ha ha! There is also a dining/banquet hall. One of the last times I was there was for Al Hikmat Services 30th anniversary in 2013. You can also go there to learn the Holy Quran (Arabic reader to the Holy Quran itself). And as always, if you are in the area, you can read your salaah (prayers)- Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib (just after sunset), and Isha salaah (the evening prayer). You can get help/ information at the front desk- and set up a meeting with the man himself- Shaikh Shafayat. For all religious purposes, Darul Uloom is the place to be.”

“I have visited this Masjad many times over the years. As a Christian, I have been welcomed with a smile and kind words by everyone I came in contact. This Islam Community had a health clinic for many years, proving specialists for individuals to see that may not otherwise have an opportunity. Visits were by donation (closed now due to Covid) the clinic was able to refer me for Xrays, MRI needed at affordable prices. This Masjad does a lot for the Tampa Bay community. Families together helping families of all faiths. I was recently there picking up boxes of fresh produce to give to a few families I knew. Kudos and blessings those volunteers standing in 100+ degee (heat index) moving cases and cases of boxes out of a chilled semitruck and handing the boxes to families of all faiths. Thank you for all you do.”
