“In today's world, heinous physical crimes against older people also happen. It's not only assault to rob, or hate crimes that tend to happen against older people. Earplugs, headphones, buds, and cell phones when walking, running, or biking-- eliminates situational awareness. Older people who continue their life-long habit of prioritizing safety by not using devices outdoors value feeling more secure from any crime. More people need to practice it and make it their new habit. Like in every other area or neighborhood in our country--one just doesn't know, cannot take for granted or should not repeatedly practice the simplest things that can bring harm or bad behavior from another person. We need to remind each other of simple things like this, since so many have stopped listening or reading the news.”

“I will start by saying I normally I wish I didn't have interactions with Temple Terrace PD. I used to live in Temple Terrace and I've always felt judged or that the department was insanely rude when I had questions and quite recently I might add, and I always like to see the bright side or good in people. Well, my car broke down in the middle of the road on Busch Boulevard and it was pouring down rain. In no time, I see the flashing lights and I was like of all places my car could've broken down. Not Temple Terrace. I was greeted by Officer Headley. Who asked what the issue was and I told him it just stalled. Understanding that his main objective is to keep the street safe but he went a step further. Instead of waiting in his vehicle for a tow assist (I've had that before in TT), he assisted me in moving my vehicle over out of harm's way and in the pouring rain mind you. He made sure I was okay and if I needed additional assistance before he left. He truly made my day and allowed me to see a different side of the department. I wish they hire more like him. He was truly pleasant and really nice. I hope the department sees this review and pass it on. Thank you again, Officer Headley.”

“My last name is Roberts and I’m black. Let’s start there. I have never in the 15 years of being around Redondo Beach had an issue with their Police department. They are not racist, what I can tell you is that they do have a very very keen focus on maintaining the Integrity and dynamic of the town as it truly a town set apart from other areas in Los Angeles. On 9/16 someone read ended me hermosa responded (bluenmfield) and then transitioned it over to redondo. By the end of it everyone was laughing and went on the merry way. Now I can’t speak for every officer on the department with a badge but what I can tell you is that there have been multiple times the officers have shown me the real spirit of the law and I’m grateful. Therefore I cannot in good conscious say “f” the police. Now Torrance, that’s another story lol!”

“The Provost Marshall’s on this base are some of the most professional and caring law enforcement officials I have ever encountered. I recently moved here from California and didn’t really understand all the Virgina laws and i recently got pulled over on base. The Officer could of chose to tow my car, trust me he had every right too. Instead he chose to go the epic route and actually work with me to clear up the issues I had. I got those issues fixed within 24 hours and I was surprised to receive a call from the Officer letting me know I was good to drive again. He 1000% didn’t have to go out of his way to take care of me but as a veteran I really appreciated his understanding and professionalism. I’m actually glad I got pulled over on base instead of out in Petersburg somewhere. Once again Thank You”
