“Tonight, my husband who works Second Shift in Mill North (near Brevins) for C&A Tool was not home at his normal arrival time of 11:45. At 12:00 I called his cell and it went right to voicemail. This is very unlike Ben, he's always home at the same time and if for any reason he will be late he will call......until tonight! In a near panic, I thought "Hey, I bet the Police Dispatch will know if there have been any accidents on St Rd 33 OR if a guy is out front of the Mill North building trying to get his Toyota Tundra to start!" So, I called and the NICEST Dispatcher answered, listened to my story and immediately alleviated my concerns by telling me, "I have been on since 10 and there have been no accidents...." AND RIGHT THEN, my husband called! I thanked her, told her he was on the other line and I answered his call! He explained he was so into fixing a problem on his machine that he spaced calling me and apologized profusely for the worry he caused! Moral of this story: You can COUNT on the Churubusco Police Department! My husband, not so much!”

“I got pulled over for speeding by officer Terry Dams, I had a bit of an attitude and he rightfully was pretty angry. After checking my D.L. came back and said he was sorry, he was having a bad day as well, and talked to my son and me and sent me on my way. I already knew, attitude is everything! I had forgotten that a little bit, but Officer Dams was a class act. Officers are people to, remember the golden rule and realize they are people too and are just doing a job. Getting a ticket sucks, but we need to respect them never the less for doing a tough job!”

“Thank you for responding so quickly when a neighbor locked her baby in her closed car as she completed packing the diaper bag, bottle, purse, cell, car & house keys in the car, to finally bring her 2-year-old in the car with her! Within probably 2 minutes 5 police cars, tow truck and rescue team had arrived! We were all SO HAPPY! “There is a lot more to being a police officer than writing traffic tickets. Those giving 1 star reviews were doing something in the wrong and got caught and are upset about it. The negative reviews don't reflect the station or police and staff as a whole. Yes it sucks to get a ticket and sometimes it seems like a cheap shot but at the end of the day be thankful we have really amazing men and women working for us in the Valley. Without going into personal details, when a call went to dispatch for help the Valley View police responded and were at the scene in less than 5 minutes. Every officer and policeman who I spoke with was very caring, concerned and clearly had training in handling tough situations. They didn't just throw regulation or follow the books. They were compassionate and did what you would hope a police officer should do. Thank you to all of the Valley View Police and dispatch team.”
