“i really like the people who work here and enjoy my visits, but it seems to me that there’s a vicious cycle at play. i have overhead the locals saying that they avoid this place because the prices are too high… i’m no economist, but perhaps if the prices were a bit more affordable, more locals would shop here and the prices wouldn’t need to be so high. it’s easy to have business from the boating tourists who aren’t so discerning, but i do think it’s worth winning over the community who will be loyal for years to come. i’d also love more organic produce, alternatives to plastic, and sustainable options all around!”

That being said, if you're looking for a fancy store, corporate-style service and for people to kiss your butt and call you suzie, go shop at Whole Foods. Yes, it's small and crowded. Yes, you should avoid using the restroom. Yes, you have to bag your own groceries, and yes, there is no self-service. Yes you have to get your own cart. You will also save serious money. If that's a problem for you, there are other places for you to shop and it'll make this place less crowded. The poor reviews on here from disappointed Karens are hilarious. 5 stars and a local institution for a reason.”

It recently went through a change of ownership too, but we have yet to notice any major changes and it's still as reliable as ever. “Meijer is the best!!! Rather shop here than most other places... They have apple/google Pay at the registers, and their Mperks program is easy to use and helps save you money!
