For an entree, we had pork chop with Mac and Cheese, which was okay. I had the braise du jour, and the pork was a little dry, but the kimchi and rice were good. They brought us a delicious dessert for our anniversary.”

“As the name implies their pretzels are SOFT and are in my opinion the BEST! I absolutely love a soft and delicious pretzel and this place is one of the best that I have tasted in the area. I am very happy to have found this place! Their pretzels are made fresh, daily right in front of your eyes! I have referred quite a few of my friends to this place and none were ever disappointed! One of my friends bought two pretzels, one for herself and one for her husband and ended up "accidentally" eating his as well! Needless to say she had to go back and get another one for her husband. When she told me about it all she could say was, "they were so soft"! They are that good! On a recent visit my husband and I were more than impressed with the level of service we received. The folks here are always friendly, welcoming and accommodating! I don’t like a lot of salt or butter on my food. Most pretzel places I have visited don’t want to make a fresh pretzel to accommodate my food restrictions. However, when I ask Thomas who was helping us, about getting a pretzel made without the butter and salt he did not give me a hard time. He told me how long it would take to bake and even brought it out to me when it was done. The pretzel was soft and fluffy as usual, very delicious! My husband also enjoyed his Dutch Almond Pretzel as well. This place is and will be our go to spot for soft pretzels.”

“My husband and I went to the Whiskey Barrel for our weekly date night. This was our first time there since the opening. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as our app. It was good. We were a little disappointed that they were out of baguette. Understandable though. For our dinner, we shared a fillet, mac and cheese, and French fries. The fillet is the best steak you'll get south of Lincoln. Trust me, I've tried them all. Good char, cooked to our temp and seasoned great. The mac and cheese should be a meal option of its own. It was so thick and creamy, absolutely delicious. Fries, how can you go wrong. They had a probably 18-person group when we were in, and the service was still great. We will be back again! I'm glad to see all of the great things the new owners have done.”

We had the Chorizo con Huevos, beans, and potatoes. Definitely had grandmas flavor. If i was mistaken, the chorizo was homemade. It's very tasty. The cheese and salsa were good. “Very tasty! Service is quick and parking in the gravel parking lot makes it for easy in and out. Small town creamy feel that is great for visiting and grabbing a burger or a Reuben.... And even my favorite the chicken sandwich. My family and I often swing in here when we visit canyon lake and we head to Overlook Park or North Park to take the kids for a Sunday. Prices are good and there's a little park out back for the kids to play in a shaded area under the trees next to a creek that flows by the hillside. Picnic tables and the shade tree had the finishing touches to this hometown Drive-In. There's quite a wide variety on the menu so definitely get the fried green tomatoes and fried pickles on the side!”

“I had gone here several times with my sister, who lived near Baldwin. It was her favorite local place to eat. When she passed away last month, we all met at her house to get things squared away. At the end of the day, we decided to go to the Phoenix for supper. It was shortly after that when we decided to hold her celebration of life at their event center. I called Kristin, their event coordinator, and she explained our options for rooms, food, etc... She was very helpful and made sure we were considering everything we needed for our event. I felt confident going into the day, knowing at least our venue was ready. We had to bring our own flowers, centerpieces, and pastor, of course, but the Phoenix provided us with a beautiful room, comfortable seating and dining, a projector, screen and microphone, and delicious food afterward. I really can't say enough about how well we were treated and accommodated. It's not that we were super demanding, I don't think, but I really got the sense that they wanted this to be a memorable and stress-free experience, such as it was. Chelsea, our server/supervisor, did an amazing job of communicating with me when we needed more food ordered, and she ran the whole room by herself! Oh, and the prices were so reasonable for what we got. I doubt we will ever have an event here again, but I would highly recommend them because of what they did for us,”

“Marco's is very consistent. It is refreshing to know that when you order something you've ordered before, it will always be the same. That is quite an accomplishment by itself in these times! This was a delivery, so there no rating on the atmosphere. The Deluxe pizza is delicious, hot, and exactly how all the photos look. To be honest, the dough for the crust is probably my favorite. It is soft yet crunchy and will not hurt the roof of your mouth. Maybe a hint of butter that adds to the deliciousness. The Italian sub is cooked in the oven, making it nice and warm with zesty banana peppers that you can taste, and the Italian dressing is the perfect addition to this heavenly meal. The driver was very friendly (even though it was steaming hot outside) and had the order delivered at least 10 minutes prior to the time expected! Great job! Did I mention this was during their rush hours? Thank you for the fantastic work to all the staff!”

One gripe is the layout, as there are several points where multiple tee boxes overlap with no indication to which hole is which and holes that’ll shoot you up to the green, but then you have to go halfway back down the fairway (down some deceptively steep hills) of the hole you just completed to find the path to the next hole. Still would play again.”
