“It is a great place for a one-day tour. Comparing to the other "big" zoos, it is small and it doesn't have many exhibitions. But the whole area is good for a holiday hiking, and there are animals that children love. The admission fee depends on your will -- but please do support them.”

“The primate house homes half a dozen gorillas along with their alpha. During the winter they are indoors and can be viewed up close on the other side of the glass enclosements. During warmer weather they are outside in the playgrounds and harder to spot.”

“I often visited here as a child in the late 70's and early 80's so I have a lot of fond memories. It is a small zoo but offers a chance to see animals a little closer up then some of the bigger zoos. We visited in the colder weather so some of the animals weren't in their habitats which is understandable. Still got a good look at the big cats and the other animals that could tolerate the colder air temps. My wife and 2 teenagers had a nice visit, and will be back in the warmer weather to see more.”

“If you love abandoned places, run to The Old Zoo. If you don't, still go to use the picnic tables for lunch, but skip the exploration part. If you are a thrill seeker, budget 45-60 minutes to explore all the old, empty cages. There's a lion's den, bird cages, monkey cages, etc. Most of the cages are closes, but a few are open for people to crawl throw and see what it was like to be a zoo animal decades ago. The highlights: 1) Lion's den: There's one you can crawl up into and see the crawl spaces and the graffiti art now in it. 2) Monkey cage: Behind the main area, hike up and keep going until you come to another cage that you can go in and walk on top of. 3) Back den: There's a large area that goes on and on. In the very front is a water way with a dry tunnel you can crawl through if you're brave enough. If you like unique things or taking unique photography, go here! It's in Griffith Park, which is fun to explore on its own.”

“We went to see the Holiday lights. It was a nice, fun and enjoyable night. We took our two young daughters,9 and 11 who enjoyed the entire park lights. The lines to enter are really long but it moves fairly quickly. The water light show was the best. You do not see any animals except for lizards and snakes. We will definitely go back every year.”

“Don't forget to visit the building since the doors are situated off the main path and alot of people walk by oblivious to the entrance.”

“It's a nice pavilion with a cool design and a nice view of the city and pond, though it can get crowded. The aforementioned qualities make it a very popular picture spot; during my last visit there were probably between 5-10 different wedding parties visiting, not to mention all the photographers. By the time I left, there was one group of photographers and 3 different wedding parties all jockeying for prime spots. This is no one's fault, but just be prepared and aware that you may not be able to enjoy this nice spot in peace.”

“Love this zoo and it's fairly large! I took someone from out of town because of it being the 1st zoo. It was a cold November day and it wasn't crowded which was so lovely for someone from California to visit! We were able to quickly get through the zoo. The otters are the best and lots of the animals were awake and playing which made it a good visit”

“This was a zoo. They have animals at this new. This was a great place to go with the family. They offer you popcorn when you come in the popcorn does not taste good. It is for the Animals to eat. Apparently you are supposed to feed the animals the popcorn I cannot understand how this can be good for them but I was assured by the staff that it is OK. The animals were basically napping most of the day but as I read on the Internet that's what most animals mostly due. Over all we had a great experience and was really glad to see the lions and Tigers and bears”

“Nice little zoo, plenty to see. Can get bus to sport centre down the road and walk up hill for about 15/20 minutes. Cafe could be better, I had the fish and chips which wasn't very nice, I've had better frozen fish!”

“Excellent day with my 3year old. Santa was fantastic. Meet and greet for minis was very interactive and my boy loved it. Plenty to do and keep him entertained. The gruffalo was a favourite of his and although the log ride "was a little bit scary" he loved it and wanted to go again and again.”

“We visited 'snakes alive' on Saturday and for the past 3 years we have paid for the 'mini experience' where you can hold 3 reptiles. This year topped the last two when we met Reece! What a lovely boy he is! He was so friendly and had so much knowledge, he was able to answer all of our questions with such great detail! It is very clear he is passionate about what he does and cares deeply about the animals. He was amazing helping my 8 year old son handle the animals and was so kind and reassuring to both myself when holding a tarantula, eek, and to my son who ended up doing 2 of the mini experiences as he enjoyed the first one so much!! Special thanks to Reece! Lovely, lovely boy! We will definitely be back again in the near future!”

“Such a special place. Where to begin! A wonderful selection of animals to see - and they all seem so happy. Lots of activities happening. I went with friends. But it looks like the perfect place to take kids - with indoor and outdoor places for play.”
