“A little gem just north of London. I have lived in Colindale for over 13 years and I never knew this museum was here. It's in a gated community with a concierge who opens the gate when you pull up and inform him you'd like to visit the museum. Sited in some beautiful grounds which is mostly private, but they have an Italian garden you can walk around accessed through the cafe. It's a small but incredibly informative museum. The best part for me was their 10 minute film. A mesh like screen with a room behind makes an innovative use of telling the story. I was in awe and have never seen anything like it before. The house itself has an amazing history but it comes in to it's own by explaining how it played its role in the Battle of Britain and the foresightful people who coordinated it. I cannot recommend the museum enough for children and adults. I'm certainly going to be making more than one return visit. There's also a reasonably priced admission charge. A small price to play to preserve amazing history”

“Thoroughly enjoyed my visit but marked down a star as the utility tap didn't have sparkling water and the trees in the back are too dense.”

“An exhibition for specialists. Designed and maintained with love. At the beginning there is an introductory film about the different uniforms. The exhibition sheds light on the history of the British military from the Middle Ages to the present day. The staff is very informative. In the museum there is absolute ban on photography. Outside, you can put on an original woolen hat and take pictures. There is also a nice shop in frond of. To the keeper: Greetings from austria, it was really nice, also for my son.”

“Superb place. Sit on tip-up seats rather than benches at the Back which are very hard. We had an excellent lecture and photo exhibitions. Projection also large and excellent as was sound system.”
