“We had a fantastic 8mile out & back hike to past Crystal Lake to Raven Glacier. It was a mostly sunny day, a little windy in spots, with moderate trail traffic. Incredible views, especially at the glacier, but all along the trail. We even got to see a black bear in the distance on a mountain side. Loved it!”

“Interesting exhibit inside the Alaskan Wildlife Conservation Center. Black bears when we visited were sleeping and well hidden except one that was walking near the fence. Well camouflaged in the tall grass and bush.”

“First time to Alaska so we took the time to go site seeing. Bison hall was a good choice. First, it's only an hour from Anchorage. Second, the drive down is beautiful so that 1 hour ride took over 2 hours. Great outdoor facility with animal enclosures. Took a funny photo of a black bear in a dead tree. Gift shop available. Check it out.”

“About 7-10 moose inside a large fenced area in a setting surrounded by glaciers, water and mountains. Such a beautiful sight on glorious day in Alaska!!”

“Great place to look at wolves. I love spending time watching them, even if they are just sleeping.”

“Very nice conservation center with spacious enclosures for the animals. We truly enjoyed our time there. You have the opportunity to ride or drive to see the animals. We drove through first and then walked. Spent over 3 hours here and could have stayed longer but had to start our drive to Homer. We were there at the right time to hear a concert of howling by the wolves. We loved seeing that all the animals were well cared for. Staff were helpful and informative.”

“Enriching space for a porcupine.”

“So much space for the ambassador brown bears, complete with pond and mini cabin. The many viewing areas give visitors great views of the bears playing, swimming, and napping. The elevated walkway is a great addition to both the black bear and brown bear habitats. Good signage. The don’t miss area of AWCC.”
