“I booked a fishing trip with Gwin’s Lodge and had an incredible day on the Kenai River. Their guide Scott was eager to plan the trip around my desire to chase rainbow trout instead of salmon. Scott’s enthusiasm and tenacity to find these rainbows even during high water conditions was truly impressive. He used his knowledge to change out fly patterns multiple times until we found what worked. We had a 20+ fish day even with challenging conditions. I will definitely book another trip with Scott and Gwin’s Lodge. Great hospitality and excellent food after an epic day on the river.”

“My husband and I stopped in on our way to Homer at 7pm on Father's Day after a long drive from Denali. The place was packed but we found a seat at the counter. We sat for a few minutes as the staff were very busy, but not extraordinarily long. We ordered the special, Prime Rib dinner. Our waitress was very friendly and chatted with us a bit Our order took some time to come out, but was hot and very good. We had a nice conversation with the owner, Arden. We returned on our way back up the peninsula for lunch and were greeted by the staff, served promptly, and left happy. Bought a few things at the gift shop and went on our way!”

“Fantastic food and wonderful service! The staff is outstanding and the food ... Wow. We stayed here for 3 nights and every day was awesome. The Salmon Dip and Salmon dish was my favorite. The Halibut came in a close second. Breakfast is also wonderful. It's hard to save room for dessert, but the berry cobbler is so good!”

“We stopped here for lunch on two separate days as there was nothing open with beer at noon. The food is good, not amazing but definitely good. The outdoor area brings it up a notch. Plus fast service. They have a few games and books too. Plus a changing table in the bathroom. Excellent beer!”

“We had our wedding weekend at Summit Lake and it was wonderful. Very homey and cozy, the staff were really friendly and Lyndsey was tremendously helpful in the lead up to the event. She was so accommodating to our many last-minute requests over the weekend. She and her team anticipated needs (like getting matching clear umbrellas for our ceremony just in case--she was watching the forecast!) Food was great and the beds were very comfortable. Beautiful lake, and would definitely recommend going for a paddle on the lake, especially if the weather is nice!”

“If you’re not sure if Hope is worth it, rethink again. We got here after driving through the rain and we saw, a bar with live music, beautiful green grass to camp on across the street from the bar, a beautiful sunset, and a rainbow. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The drinks were great, the music was lovely, and the staff was incredibly friendly.”

“Food was incredible, flavor combinations were off the chain and everything tasted great. We got the original Benedict, best hollandaise I’ve ever had, it’s made fresh in house. We also got a fish taco and a chicken taco, they were very different and both amazing. Mango pico de gallo on the fish taco was so good. Best food in Hope!”
