“My Russian Blue cat, Grimm, rapidly developed a very severe liver and kidney infection. Unfortunately, by the time we realized the existence & severity of the condition, it was too late. When we took Grimm to Tier 1, we were given the prognosis and the odds were very low that she would make a recovery. We loved her very much and did not want to drag out a process that wouldn’t likely succeed. So, we chose euthanasia. I have never had to go through the process before. Tier 1 vets explained the process, gave us a breakdown of costs, and allowed us to sit in the room with Grimm as long as we wanted in order to say our goodbyes. We never felt rushed, which was appreciated. We chose to stay with her during the process, which was painless. I’m glad we chose this option. She went out happy and pain free wrapped in a blanket in our arms, which was best. We miss her but are glad that she did not suffer. We chose to bury her under a tree with a good view on our property. The night we buried her, the Northern Lights came out for just 10 minutes. I like to think that was Grimm saying goodbye. We miss you, Grimm. ~Thank you to the whole team at Tier 1 who signed a sympathy card. That was very thoughtful.”

“This was a nice exhibit! There was a lot of space for the fox(es), and I was able to see one of them. The fox was a little further away, but I tried to get some pictures of it. I enjoyed this exhibit, and also recommend going to this animal conservation center in general.”

“Recently expanded, the new larger alpaca yard is an even greater space for the trio that calls it home. They're super personable and very interested in humans, but please don't feed them. Great place to loiter while waiting for others to use the nearby bathrooms.”

“I love these two, so much so I’ve symbolically adopted them and am now the proudest of wolverine parents to Olga and Jumbo. Lots of space, plenty of enrichment, and a super caring team of keepers keeps them thriving. I strongly recommend the wolverine encounter when they’re back on the calendar, worth every penny. Update: the kits are adorable!”

“I love the Anchorage Zoo! Especially Little Rock the Musk Ox. Hes the best! I'll come back every year to say hi to him! The Zoo is doing everything it can to keep people safe during the pandemic. When we went, on a Thursday, there were not many people there at all making it very easy to social distance!”

“It's a sweet little spot on the Ship Creek trail. You can't fish at the spot but it's fun to hangout and watch the birds catch fish. Lots of fish downstream by Ship Creek and you're allowed to fish there. You can see tons of fish here during the season June - August. There's also a small parking area.”
