“This is a lovely place to walk (or run). There is also a mountain biking trail. There are a variety of features along the trail such as statues of bison at the top of the Ad astera ascent where you can see the city of Topeka on the horizon, a replica cabin of the one the founders of Topeka spent a cold winter in until it burned, a tree fort you can climb up into, a pond with a dock, and a large tire swing. If I had grandkids I would definitely bring them. My husband and I visited in March when the grasses were brown. It was still beautiful, but I'd love to go back in spring or early summer.”

“Played there tonight with my kids. They just installed new equipment, lights, soft flooring, and canopy. It's great! We could see clearly even though it was well past sunset. There are dozens of new trees that will eventually provide amazing shade. I plan to come here for many years. Basketball court is great too.”

“Pretty good park. There are a couple pot holes and uneven spots but overall it’s a pretty enjoyable park. Basketball court has lights. Grills are available. The only negative I have is that this park doesn’t have a public restroom. Unless you have a house across the street from the park you are screwed if you are throwing a party or get together.”

“Indian bend park was hit by a micro burst during the monsoon yesterday. My daughter and I just happened to save almost a dozen birds that were too wet to fly from predators that had already gotten one by the time we arrived. It was a positive experience we can look back on for the rest of our lives.”

“Unique neighborhood. The community surrounds a large park/stable/horse arena. There is a bridal path around the perimeter of all the homes. A kitschy horse bench sits in one corner of the park. One of the residents decorate their home spectacularly for Halloween. A must see!”

“We really like this community park. Much of the history of the park comes from the Hanger family. They owned a dairy here in the area until 1973 when they moved it to Chandler. The roots of their family tree run deep in Tempe and Chandler. I always love seeing kids (mine included) running and playing in this park. Basketball, a large playground and huge open spaces for all to enjoy.”

“This is a pretty huge park with most of the area taken up by multiple sport courts. There is a horseshoe court, basketball court, baseball field and a volleyball court. Lots to do! They also have a huge playground. Along the park they have lot of green grass and a few palm trees with a sprinkling of oak (?) trees. There are no walking trails however, and I got an inexplicable drab vibe while walking through the park. Other than that, it's a decent place to play.”

The view is nice at the top, a great photo opp with the "A" & parking. However IF hiking during the summer or visiting make sure to arrive before 8am before it gets hot!”

“This is a MUST DO if you are a student who is attending ASU. Yes this is an uphill hike but it is not that long at all. Once you make it to the top you will get a spectacular view of the city of Tempe. I is a great place to snap a couple photos when you make it to the top. Every now and then a rival school will paint over the "A" and make it into another color.”

“Tucked away near the mountain, you wouldn't even know this park was there. It's alive with all sorts of animals- rabbits, gophers, lizards chasing each other, birds that make strange noises, I felt like I had gone back in time. There's trees that provide shade to lay in the grass, and some branches strewn about. There's a small path that goes around the perimeter. I sat and played my hand pan for a couple of hours. Simply a nice spot.”

“Nice place to run, bike, jog, walk. Some great desert views though in an effort to protect the rock formations they are fenced in. This plus the powerlines obscures the view. Ironic that as we try to preserve nature we cannot enjoy it. Otherwise a nice place to visit with kids who want to ride bikes”
