“Let me just say that first off this school is not for everyone. It demands hard work from students and if you have not previously attended a charter school you might find the rules to be much more strict and that the teachers require your best effort. On that note I have attended ALA for 4 years now and find it to be the best school I have ever attended. You will find a very clean campus where students are challenged every day to be there best. The language is clean and I have never been confronted with any drugs or alcohol of any sort. There are of course people who do those kinds of activities during their own time but it is not tolerated on campus. Furthermore, there is a strict student dress code that can be frustrating at times. ALA is not like any other school out there. Teachers have always given up their free time and most students will agree that teachers want you to succeed.”

The school includes an arts curriculum along with a strong curriculum focusing on the fundamentals they need at this age. Art, music, and even dance are used to reinforce the curriculum. I was surprised to see how dance gets the wiggles out with structure and thought, movement with planning. Too often schools forget the joy that the arts we all once had in school bring to learning.”

The teachers are passionate and love the kids, the Socratic method is a wonderful method of teaching through discussion and the students have opportunities you simply don't have at standard public schools. My daughter finished 4 years of Latin as a Freshman and now as a Sophomore is starting Greek. My daughter is not ahead of anyone, all the students have this curriculum. No school is perfect, but this one is definitely far above any school we've had our kids in prior.”

He immediately made friends which hasn’t always come naturally for him. He loves Mr Notley and raves about the endless opportunities ahead. I was warned that sometimes WGA doesn’t accept students on 504 plans. I can 100% say this isn’t true and my son has been accommodated without hesitation. Thankful for this community.”
