Top Zoos in Maricopa county, Arizona, United states

Phoenix Zoo

Address: 455 N Galvin Pkwy, Phoenix, AZ 85008, USA

Zoo

“Great zoo in terms of animals! We came on thanksgiving day and it was a beautiful day and not too crowded. Weather was nice and cool and it felt like being in an air conditioned zoo! I would easily give this 5 stars if they charged a little bit less. I go to a lot of zoos and this was one of the more expensive zoos I’ve been to, it was around $107 for me and my wife and my 4 year old daughter. On top of this, if you want to do a bus shuttle thing, it’s an extra $6 a person to do it. There were these cool scooter things, and those were $5 plus around $0.35/minute. We also felt weird seeing camel rides at a zoo. Again that costs more money, but seems weird to subject camels to being ridden at a zoo for money. Staff were nice and facilities were nice! Just seems like they could improve a few things.”

Giraffe Overlook

Address: Tempe, AZ 85281, USA

Zoo

“The most easily accessible and most scenic view point in the valley. Clouds in a sunset make it better. Wheelchair access! Easy peasy. Bring a snack.”

Creature Kingdom - Mobile Petting Zoo

Address: 21577 E. Calle de Flores, Queen Creek, AZ 85142, USA

Zoo

“Creature Kingdom provided the best birthday party ever for my 8-year-old! I feel like the price was fair and so worth it! We chose to pay extra for a 2-hour party and even then the kids wanted more time because they were so enthralled! Morena was amazing! She was knowledgeable about the animals and so great at teaching the kids about each animal and how to handle it. Her calm and confident demeanor instilled the same feelings in the kids. She kept our birthday girl at the center of attention, treated her like a VIP. She laid down a tarp and cleaned up afterwards and there was no mess! Many of the kids said it was the best birthday party they had ever been to! I would recommend Creature Kingdom for any party or event, hands down! Thank you for the memories ❤”

Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park

Address: 16501 W Northern Ave, Litchfield Park, AZ 85340, USA

Zoo Aquarium Park

“My family and I absolutely love this zoo! We have a membership and it's well worth the money considering you can skip the long line to get in every time. If you're spending the day, bring quarters and cash. Most of the "rides" take card and cash but many of the food places only take cash. Quarters are handy for feeding the ducks, fish, and pets in the petting zoo. I'd recommend bring a little paper cup to hold the food pellets, that way you can stash a bit and use it at another pond (there are many so you don't have to crowd around one! If one is too busy, there probably another pond just around the corner). The exhibits are awesome and you can get pretty close (safely) to the animals. Staff is always friendly too! I love coming here and a membership pays for itself if you plan on visiting just at least 3x (we live close and go for an hour or two here and there).”

Superstition Serpentarium

Address: 4650 N Mammoth Mine Rd, Apache Junction, AZ 85119, USA

Zoo Meal takeaway Restaurant

“I missed going to this place. I love it. It is open again and the animals miss people. Everyone should go check it out. I believe it is Monday -Friday but Weekends have shows of course. Don't forget the western shows and pictures of kids in jail or spouse. 😆”

Desert Breeze Hummingbird Habitat

Address: 4700-4724 W Desert St, Chandler, AZ 85226, USA

Zoo Park

“Great little area for birdwatching. Quite a few hummingbirds, lots of doves sparrows finches pigeons. I heard a couple Cardinals but didn’t see him. I wish there was normal benches to sit on and enjoy the scenery, just as very very uncomfortable tree bench thing. Great location lots of shade bathrooms water fountains etc.”

Butterfly Wonderland

Address: 9500 East Vía de Ventura F100, Scottsdale, AZ 85256, USA

Zoo Park Health

“Really beautiful to see..just prepare for the climate. Pretty warm and humid, tropical environment in the sanctuary. Very friendly staff. Short 3d film on monarch butterflies is interesting for all ages. Face mask is required..so again..be prepared for the tropical environment. The multi entertainment ticket is your best bet, a little pricey for just the butterfly exhibit especially due to the fact that you really cannot stay in there for too long due to the heat. There is a small aquatic and reptile walk through exhibit included. Fun day!!”

Phoenix Zoo

Address: 455 N Galvin Pkwy, Phoenix, AZ 85008, USA

Zoo

“The zoo is a great place to spend the day. The animals are fun to look at, and there is a lot to learn. The food is also really great. They have a lot of cool events, and the membership is very affordable. My favorite part is the sting ray bay which costs a little extra, but it's worth every penny. Ellie is the friendliest ray.”
