Spectacular views and a wonderful hike, TAKE LOTS OF WATER. Did this hike in mid-April and the temp was about 90. Took the LEFT trail down to the spring which is more terrain. Took the RIGHT trail back up. The right trail is mainly river bed and you may feel exhausted as you work your way up if you aren't familiar with walking on loose gravel. This trail is NOT LARGE DOG FRIENDLY. We had a small dog and he did just fine, but was very exhausted. We saw several animals that had to be carried by owners as the hike is very strenuous on larger animals. Be smart and be prepared on this hike. It's not a walk in the park, but worth it!
Take at least 1 gallon of water per person per day. And a flashlight. Don't take your dogs, they won't make it up the ladder obviously. Its 7 miles round trip. The hike was great. The springs in the slot canyon was great. The river was great. No complaints. Just hike straight down into the canyon and turn left at the river. Its self explanatory with a couple signs to guide as well. I also did the Arch hike and its good exercise. The Arch trail starts in the canyon on the right. Look up and you'll see an obvious sign. Everything was blooming which I didn't expect. Even better.
This was the best hike we ever had. Bring water. Sip water. Long walk and great sites. Glad they had some markers in tough spots to tell us which way to go. We got a little concerned a couple of times. Be prepared to disrobe down to your knickers. Caught us by surprise but we were troopers and politely walked past everybody sitting in the hot spring level.
Easy to follow hike, very nice weather. Always warmer than Las Vegas. March is a good month to go there. I believe it is closed during the summer due to high temperature. Definitely bring a swim suit if you want to dip in the hot springs. There is a short straight walk, then you go down a steep hill and soon after you'll see the hot springs. Hiking shoes will definitely make the hike easier. Enjoy.
We went there for my birthday. That is a beautiful hike. We spent the night at the Colorado river. He jumped into the cold river. Next.time we will rent kayak to come here. One of the four hot springs is very very hot. The small one close to the.ladder is the coldest and you can stay long. Do not drink and put water in your nose. There is some parasites that can come through your nose to.get to your.brain and you will be dead. No fun. Just be careful. There is.a sign but most of the hikers do not pay attention to it.
Happy hiking!
