Price was $18 for the day
Some pros:
- The beaches are sandy and clean. I've gone to other beaches in the area and they seem to have more muddy waters.
- This lake is gradual so you will go from shallow to deep water gradually and wond have to worry about sudden drop off.
- Even on a hot weekend, there is room but you may need to walk a bit.
Some cons:
- pretty packed on the weekends.
- The lake has receded so you have to drive on sand to find a good spot. If you have a FWD car, be careful where you drive as you can get stuck. For the most part, you don't have to worry as long as you stay on the harder parts.
- Because the lake has receded, you have to walk around to find a good spot so bring plenty of water for the walk.
Overall, it is clean and was a great time.
We have an annual family reunion there at North Shore. When I pulled up to pay I let them know I was with the (H) family reunion and I was staying for the day. The guy at the booth said the day use was full and I couldn't go in. He asked if there was a camping spot that I could be a second car. I had to pull over and call, the phone reception was spotty so talking to my family inside was not fun. It was a very frustrating hour trying to find somebody who had an open spot and I wasn't going to drive an hour and a half back home. I talked to other family members and no one else seemed to have problems coming in for the day.
Had an absolutely wonderful time camping here for the first time with our 3 year old and 1.5 year old. They had tons of fun and Dani even dropped by our campsite with toys for them to choose. The playground was great for little ones too! Can’t wait to take the kids back.
Nice camping location for families with small kids. The tent cabin is spacious and functional. Beautiful view of the lake. Dani also dropped by to greet us in the morning, and passed out coloring books and stickers to the kids. First time we have experienced such kind hospitality since the COVID pandemic.
Super clean, patrol rangers available when necessary, clean restrooms, lots of space for recreation! $18 for 1 day pass. We had a really great time there with our teen, preteen, and toddler
We are considering camping here with a large group
