Absolutely beautiful place to visit. Love foldome lake the water is perfect plenty of parking. No life guards on site.
Enjoyed lake hope return soon.
Easy access to Folsom Lake and less crowded than Granite Bay.
park outside the gate because its $12 to park inside. be prepared to walk on concrete to the trailhead. head past toll both on foot to junction. turn left at junction and watch for trailhead on left. will take you to a little lake with a nice view of lake Folsom. nice picnic bench there to stop for a snack.
There is plenty of boat and horse trailer parking available. The gate is closed during the rainy season; check the Folsom Lake page on the California State Parks website for status. When closed you may park your car just outside the gate and walk or ride in. In season the usual Folsom Lake entrance fee is required. Good hikes year-round, west and south toward Horseshoe Bar Road and north toward Avery's Pond are shady and feature a variety of chaparral brush, California Laurel, and Gray Pine trees. No drinking water but there are troughs for stock. Mountain bikes only on paved and dirt roads, not on hiking/riding trails.
