(July 2, 2023, 9:37 am)The Rankin Ranch is truly an oasis and Mr. Rankin is a prince of a man. My bike touring route took me through Caliente up and over the Lion's Tail, a 4,000 ft elevation gain on a blistering hot day, and I was out of water. I pulled into the driveway of a ranch house surrounded by trees and a kindly gentleman rancher stepped out of his house and asked me if there was something I needed. I said "water, even hose water will do". He told me to go back out to the road and go around to the corral. I was fully expecting to get watered with the horses but instead I found a verdant oasis with children playing in a swimming pool and moms relaxing on a brilliant green grass field. Mr. Rankin offered me ice water and freshly made lemonade. There's a place in heaven for this man.

There are not enough words to describe how much I enjoyed this place!
From the truly amazing view, the friendly service, the fun activities, everything was just wonderful.
The Rankin Family and their staff were so welcoming!
The wranglers did a great job during the horseback rides. Shout out to Shelbie, Destiny and Fernando!
The food was amazing! Home cooked meals and awesome deserts!
I met super interesting people who have keep coming back to this ranch.
After this time, I'm looking to become one of these people and come back here many more times!
(April 19, 2023, 10:24 am)We just spent 4 days at rankin ranch and had the best time. The staff makes you feel like family and you are well taken care of. The food was really good and activities were very organized. Meals and horseback riding always happened right as scheduled and they were always accommodating to your needs! We want to go back as soon as possible!!
(September 25, 2022, 10:39 pm)First time going to Rankin Ranch with our Harley Group. What a fabulous experience! The hospitality from everyone at the ranch was unbelievable. Loved this so much we are making this an annual event. Thank you to the entire Rankin Family for making our stay so special.

(August 19, 2022, 5:23 pm)My kids (ages 10 and 12) and I had an amazing time. The staff is excellent and very attentive from the moment we arrived. Instantly fell in love with Shelby and Amanda!
The counselors were so fun, sweet, and kept kids of various ages entertained (and in line!). We loved Griffin especially! What a great guy. They create a fun family atmosphere with games like Bunco and Bingo!
The room was simple and comfortable. We brought all toiletries and our own pillows for comfort. The cabins have two adjoining rooms; we thankfully got a polite and quiet family next to us. It is very dark and quiet at night, which is amazing.
The food is yummy: be prepared for old-school Americana like "tamale pie" and pulled pork sandwiches for lunch. They always served a salad and fruit. The burgers and steak were obviously delicious. The kitchen crew made special meals for my pescatarian daughter (thanks Sarah!). The staff snuck my son extra dessert and bacon (yay Cassie!). Do bring snacks for between meals if your kids are used to that. They have cold water, lemonade, and ice tea all day.
The riding staff is very attentive. Rides are about 45 minutes twice a day and well-paced to your level. Thank horses are clearly well cared for and calm. We felt very safe. Loved chatting with Fernando.
Bring sturdy shoes for hiking and walking and prepare to be dusty almost always. Part of the fun!!
Overall, a must-do adventure! We will definitely be back.
