“It amazes me how many complaints I am reading. My boyfriend attended this school. I saw a lot of students who didn't put ANY effort into their work let alone apply themselves. Most of the students in that place complained about EVERYTHING, or didn't show up. There were more failures than graduates. High Desert MAKES you do the work and cuts people no slack. If they're treating you like a child, it is probably because you're acting like one. This is college, not high school. My boyfriend graduated with a 98%, High Desert treated my boyfriend like a KING. The student loan process was easier than getting a car loan. My boyfriend plans on going back to further himself in the medical field. I wouldn't want him going anywhere else. The teachers and staff really care about their students and make sure no one is left out of the loop. They assisted my boyfriend in landing a job and an awesome internship.”

“This place is awesome!!! The staff is always so friendly and wonderfully accommodating. I've been here several times and have brought family and friends here. They also have some great desserts that are handmade. You can even take a loaf of some of their delicious various types of breads offered (Poppyseed, Banana, etc). Super yummy! You can have a nice breakfast while you're watching the gliders takeoff and land since their eating area has windows for viewing. They also have other seating areas around the property that you can use to hangout and relax while your friends/family are up in the air. It's a nice, relaxing, chill vibe. The pilots are also super cool. If you're looking for a place to go gliding, this is definitely one worth checking out!”

“Over the years my experience with Specialty Flight Training, and Lonnie in particular, has been consistently positive. Good people – they have always been willing to help. As an instructor, Lonnie is extremely knowledgeable. And while I appreciate his sense of humor, I also appreciate that he teaches the “why” as well as the “how”, and the why is almost always tied to safety. There is a personality element to finding the right instructor. Getting to know Lonnie is worth the time.”

“Steak bowl was good, but I have lived my life on a low sodium diet. Way too salty for my personal taste. I am sure I could ask for steak with no seasoning and wait. The staff is very friendly.”

“California Aeronautical University At almost a year at this school, I believe that this school has a great potential to help lead the students to pursue their aviation path. The staffs here are very nice and helpful. When you hear the words school, you think of waking up early to go to class everyday and doing same routine everyday. But here at CAU is different, this is a different tradition type of school that help prep the students specifically for the aviation field of study mainly in the focus for the Airline pilot. Classes here can be both hard and easy as long you don't wait until last minute and alway go ask for help. This school also give many great opportunities for students to explore more places and volunteer for the airshow, take field trip to a museum or even hiking. This school also has many cool airline partnership that visited the school and provide tips and recruits highly qualified student. Enough being said about the school, I will give my pro and con about this school. My pro and con are: Pro; •Close in state Private University. Since I am from SoCal. •Campus is at the airport (meaning student will only have to walk out to the tarmac to get to their plane.) •Alot more cheaper then most other public Universities like Embry Riddle $400k plus! •Fast pace courses. •ONLY 3 YEARS PROGRAM to get your bachelor's in Aeronautics! •No pre-flight hours needed, you start from ground 0 up to get your CFII. •University own private security and school ID card. •I honestly like the foods here. •Recreational center, pool, gym, tennis courts, and a basketball court to stay healthy. •School own Pilot Uniform. •Beautiful airplane. •School have many new more planes, Cessna172. • Part 141 University flight school Updated: private pilot training are now a part 61. •Best of all, the staffs and teacher here know you very well! Con; • Small residences room. •Lack of information when signing the school document. •small portion of foods. •School location is far from any close by mall or shopping center. •Online class is still pretty new to the school.(please give the school some time to get this fix.) •Sometime the side dish get outdated. No big problem yet. Just be mindful about getting them.”

“Great atmosphere and good people to talk to. I truly recommend calling or texting before showing up. Their hours are very convenient and accessible. With one call/text/visit you can get all your questions answered and start planning a future appointment or your process if you’re ready.! Good luck to any future Airman!”

“I've always wanted to get my pilots license. When I contacted Excell, they walked me through the entire process, making it smooth and easy to progress. My flight instructor, Bill, was very knowledgable, and made the entire flying process easy to understand and duplicate. The plane was well kept, and easy to fly, so when it came time for the two "nervous" parts of this process (first the solo, second the checkride), I was confident I could accomplish these tasks, and I did. I now have my license, and I would highly recommend Excell Aviation for anyone interested in getting their private pilots license. If you're not sure about it, setup a Discovery flight first to see just how much fun flying is!”
