“I've only ever been inside the Multiuse Building and the Rec Center for a swim class at Ocean Campus. City College multiple sites across San Francisco and classes are offered both in person, hybrid, and online (sync and asynchronous). Languages like Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, German, Italian, French, and Tagalog are regularly offered, although sessions are fewer for higher level courses. Except for Spanish and Mandarin, the expectation is that you'll transfer to an institution with more advanced level classes. The college has a number of defunct certificate programs and cool classes that are no longer offered, eg app and game design in the computer science department. The Ocean campus is walking distance from Balboa Park Station, a terminus for the K, M, and J trains + the BART trains going toward Daly City/Millbrae/SFO. There's also a ton of parking, although it isn't all free. The community college is free if you're an SF resident. You pay some or all your tuition upfront, and it's refunded throughout the semester (that's been my experience). I was able to register and get my account working in very little time. Taking CS classes that use the Hills computer for submitting homework are hell on earth. Not all professors explain how to access the College's SQL database or how to remote login into the terminal. In those situations, you wonder why you're taking a class in the first place since you need to do 99% of your learning and troubleshooting on your own. I've only used the counseling services to get my units approved or to schedule my graduation, but the few counselors I've interacted with are very helpful and proactive. If you want to save money before transferring, you can't go wrong with City College. If you just want to take a class for fun or work on a certificate, there are tons of useless courses on computer networking / frontend development, paralegal stuff, construction management, and basically every Math course you'd want before upper level engineering / science stuff.”

“We visited California State University at Fullerton on a self-guided tour along with some other schools in California. It was summertime, so the campus was not crowded. We were impressed with the beautiful buildings and the overall atmosphere of the campus. There was background music playing from speakers all around, adding to the ambiance. The buildings looked well taken care of, with nice seating areas throughout the campus. Few students were moving about on these fast scooters as the campus is vast. There was a lot of trees and plants all around - very green campus. What stood out to us were the unique architectural features on many buildings, which made it different from the other three schools we visited that day. It was a very pretty and fun visit for a family of a prospective student.”

“Exceptional PMP Preparation Experience with Dr. Sam !!! I recently embarked on a journey to obtain my PMP certification, and it was undoubtedly one of the most rewarding experiences I've had in my professional development thus far. A significant portion of this success can be attributed to the outstanding preparation classes I attended, particularly those led by Dr. Sam. I enrolled in Dr. Sam's PMP preparation classes, consisting of two intensive weekend sessions. From the outset, it was evident that Dr. Sam possessed a deep understanding of the subject matter and a knack for effectively conveying complex concepts in a digestible manner. His teaching style fostered engagement and encouraged active participation from all attendees. What truly set Dr. Sam's classes apart was the personalized attention and support he provided to each participant. Beyond merely delivering lectures, he fostered an environment conducive to open discussion and collaborative learning. We had ample opportunities to engage in enriching discussions, share insights, and address any lingering doubts or questions. One aspect of Dr. Sam's guidance that I found particularly valuable was his strategic approach to exam preparation. He confidently suggested that, upon completing the course, candidates could feasibly sit for the PMP exam within two weeks—a proposition that initially seemed daunting but ultimately proved entirely manageable with his guidance. Dr. Sam went above and beyond by facilitating group discussions among participants, ensuring that everyone had a comprehensive understanding of the material. Moreover, he provided invaluable guidance on the application process, streamlining what can often be a convoluted and intimidating aspect of pursuing PMP certification. In addition to his exceptional instruction, Dr. Sam equipped us with comprehensive study materials that were instrumental in reinforcing key concepts and preparing for the exam. Furthermore, he recommended a supplementary resource—a book he authored—which provided a unique, narrative-driven approach to understanding various aspects of the PMP framework. This additional resource proved to be immensely beneficial in solidifying my understanding of the subject matter. Thanks to Dr. Sam's unwavering support and expert guidance, I successfully cleared the PMP exam within the suggested timeframe—an achievement I owe in large part to his exceptional teaching and mentorship. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Sam's PMP preparation classes to anyone seeking to attain PMP certification or enhance their project management skills. His dedication, expertise, and personalized approach make for an unparalleled learning experience that is sure to yield fruitful results. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to learn from Dr. Sam and eagerly anticipate furthering my professional development under his guidance in the future.”

TRUCKEE FLIGHT TRAINING

Address: Truckee Tahoe Airport, Truckee Airport Rd, Truckee, CA 96161, USA

“I found Sarah when looking for a CFI to familiarize myself with the Truckee better. It didn't take much looking to get interested in her Mountain Training course. Besides wanting to fly comfortably to Truckee from the Bay Area, I wanted to find out all the things I didn't know that I didn't know about flying in the mountains. Sarah accommodated both myself and my son for the three day course and it is near or at the top of my flying experiences. The ground school was great, the general flying tips and instruction were welcomed to break a few bad habits as well. THEN we did the cross country trip the last day and that was the most beautiful flight ever. Over lake tahoe, down to the Saw Tooth ridges and peaks, 2000 feet about and around Yosemite (Half Dome), then on to Mono Lake. Her style was calm but direct, which worked fantastic for the two of us. It's hard to recommend her any higher. If you are thinking of a mountain training course or just a CFI for that area, give her a try!”
