“I had never been big on sushi before this place. I usually went for katsu if my family wanted sushi. I can now say I'm a regular here and it's one of my favorite places. Food is fresh, always flavorful, and great friendly service every time. Rainbow roll, baked shrimp, baked salmon, are all great, but for me their Twin Dragon roll is the best. Highly recommend it. Very unassuming location and price is comparable with other sushi restaurants. You'll always be greeted with a smile here.”

“Having to buy 'take out' for a spouse who formerly a floating manager for a chain of Mexican/ American fast food restaurants has been a real difficulty. We have tried many but she was often disappointed or they all the way across town or went out of business. Fortunately we tried Don Alfonso's which is only a few blocks from our house. She's been very pleased with menu items ordered so far (1/2 dozen visits) and I think we've found a winner. Extremely dependable and quick kitchen staff and cordial and efficient counter personnel. Regardless of the time of day, consistency in all facets of operation. We found a close a valued restaurant to fill our needs.”

“We used to really enjoy coming here. Then after covid they started closing at 8:00 on a weekend which I thought interesting. The food can be good but a lot of times it’s not hot. A previous visit the food was cold so we asked them to heat it up. 15 minutes later we asked about it and they had forgotten about it. They didn’t even offer a pastry as an apology. We decided to give them another shot a year later and it was a little better. The requested items that we wanted served hot were not so we had to wait for them to hear it up. This place could be good but it’s alright. Plus the carpet is really worn and old and needs to be replaced. They don’t seem to really pay attention to the details.”

“We tried their root beer battered corn dog and the Old Town hotdog. -Both were pretty tasty, but the hotdog was by far the best 😋. Other than the name, you wouldn't know the corn dog has a root beer batter. -Service could use some improvement. -Great location if you want to try a bit of everything and have a local beer.”

“Let me just start by saying that I regret not stopping to eat here sooner. It’s kind of hidden in the corner but that’s what makes this place a gem. The customer service is always friendly, welcoming and good conversation. The food is great portions, perfectly cooked and definitely has flavor that will make not want to stop eating. “I have been hunting for the perfect torta and I found it here! The meat was flavorful and just the right amount of fatty. The tomato, avocado, and lettuce added the perfect amount of freshness. The cheese and beans were perfectly balanced and they added just the right amount of mayo. I've never had a better torta. To make things even better, for the price they are huge! Less than $10 and easily satisfied both my husband and I.”

The one great notice was the meat, tender and delicious. According to one or the servers the owner gets the meat daily which to me says allot. “Great customer service and yummy ramen. One of my girls loves this place! Whenever we dine @ Glendora public market she gets Bushi By Jinya ramen combo. This time she got their spicy red combo. She loved it and said it had great flavor. The combo is $20 bucks it's a great deal. Comes with bowl of ramen, a hand roll, and some popcorn chicken. Overall a great spot to grab some good grub!”

“Smash burger!!! Great flavor. Fries were seasoned nicely. Ordered the bacon cheese with double patties. Delicious! Got the combo that includes fries and a fountain drink. We also had a beet salad. The dressing wasn’t my favorite but the salad was fresh and yummy. It happened to be my husband’s birthday and they came over with two apple turnovers with two scoops of vanilla ice cream drizzled with caramel! What a nice surprise! Good food, super nice service!”

That being said, the service here is excellent, every visit has the person working the front has been happy, welcoming, and super helpful. The prices are good and the portions are excellent. As far as spice level goes I've never ordered higher than medium. I enjoy spice but don't like things too hot and this was just right for me. “So many mixed reviews on this place, but was a place on my list from had to try. When I saw they had corned beef and cabbage for St Paddy’s, that was my excuse. It was a Friday night and on my way home from a round of golf, so I ordered take out. Got there a little early, so had a chance to check the place out and loved the vibe. Live music in the bar, which was packed, and menu seemed interesting enough to bring me back. To start, the phone order was smooth and very friendly. Once I got there, I started up a conversation with the receptionist who took my order and the manager. We had a great conversation about the place and menu and how I wanted to try the place, but the mixed reviews might have kept me away. They really do seem to care and was so friendly, not sure where the mixed reviews come from but my experience was awesome. I had some extra time, so got a drink and listed to the band. Seems like a great weekend dinner and music night for the future. As for the food, the corned beef was awesome. Huger portion of beef, potatoes, carrots and cabbage for about $18. Came with bread and soup, which was clam chowder on this night (split pea was the other option). The soup and bread were delicious as well. Definitely warrants a return trip, where the Basque dinner is in my sights.”

“I absolutely love the vibe and food at this restaurant. The music and the Mexican decor is really great to admire.The food presentation is great and the food tastes great as well. The only reason why I am giving this place a 4/5 is because the actual service is not up to par. After our food arrived, the waiter/ waitress wasn't tentive to refill our drinks, we had to flag the staff down for refills, extra napkins & the check. It would be understandable if it was busy, but sadly it wasn't; there were 4 tables occupied total & we were a total of 10 guests.”
