“This small garden is right at the entrance. Basically it’s a place to let you take a rest, meet people. From here the trail radiate. Turn right you can go to rose garden or go to train station for small train ($3 but waste money). Turn right you can go to Japanese garden. If you go straight, you just go into camellia forest.”

“Spacious and was well-kept. I usually visit here for a concert or to have a walk with my pet. Its nice to have some picnics here too.”

“Although it's good to see lots of Camellia, the camellia here is different than what I imagine. Camellia should look like a bush, but in this Garden, they force the camellia to grow as high as possible so they become a tree. You only see flowers far above you. It kind of lost its purpose to have this kind of flowers here”

“Some special shape. big Oak trees here. Although it seems to be a forest, many space under the tree with lots of shadows. So it’s really nice place to take a rest. Many Camilla trees can be seen. They are grown like a tree with lots of flowers on top to spare the space out for ground. I don’t like it cuz it makes Camila ugly.”

“Very beautiful get away in the outskirts of the city! If you enjoy natural scenery this is the place to be! There are different gardens to visit and you can spend the whole day walking around. There's also a gift shop and sometimes a seasonal gift shop too. You can bring a picnic but will have to enjoy it outside the garden. They have a picnic area with tables and benches for that. If you don't want to pack a meal there's a couple of food options. The cafe is quick and has vegan options. The snack portions are potentially a full meal! The tacos come with chips too. Have fun!”

“This is the best rose garden I have visited in north America. It is even better than the rose garden at Huntington (gasp!). The roses are mixed with other plants so the color pallet is very dramatic. The garden up keep is the best I have seen and a hearty congratulations goes to the volunteers.”

“This is special garden compared to other garden. With its theme, you can see Japanese building, Bridges, pavilion and other Japanese style plants here. With wall outside, and running water inside, here make you think you walk into another space. Of course, you can’t compare this with one in Huntington library”

“This place is next to lots of forest. Suddenly you can see sunlight. You can see lots of different flowers other than roses like rose garden. It’s not as colorful as rose garden for sure. But it’s simply and pretty still. They looks more like wildflowers in south California”

“Okay, this is not an ancient forest but rather has cycads which genetically are very old plants (its evolutionary tree is pretty small). So you can argue that these are plants eaten by dinosaurs. Cycads are also quite rare. The 'nut' of some cycads grows from the center of the plant and is also known as a dinosaur egg. BTW - One of the leading cycad researchers donated part of his collection to this garden. This is all explained on the information signs in the garden.”

“Not many flowers here. But some statues looks interesting. A good place to let kids play some facilities. Coming to here, as name suggests, you need to hike up. So it’s a good exercise and hiking to here. It’s not that difficult, so don’t worry about it.”

“Last year in November, the weekend before this campground was closed for the winter, we had a 2 night stay here, at site #8. We absolutely fell in love with it. We have a seven-year-old who enjoyed it so much as well. It was really cold at night (high 30s) and cold during the day (50s), but as long as you are prepared, it's lovely. Because it is only an hour and a half away from us, we decided to go back the last week of June for 4 nights. We looked around again and settled on site #9 this time. While we did enjoy our stay, the abundance of mosquitoes bothered us despite repellent spray and citronella candles. Definitely a better camping experience in the fall/winter season. Also, as a general information: the sites 7, 8, 9 and 10 are great as they are big and somewhat secluded with enough trees to provide shade. The last 3 sites (36, 37, 38) are supposed to be great too as they are secluded and shady as well.”

“Beautiful group campground near the top of the area. Remote enough so there is no cell phone coverage and limited water, but there are toilets and good parking. We have used it twice now for large group camping with 40+ attending. Spaces for the whole group crowd around a fire or lay out grills to serve pancakes and sausage to the whole group.”

“Don't know if it's mt Lowe or another mountain, but if you keep veering right after the tunnel, you will eventually reach the top of a mountain, I think it's like ~6k feet altitude. Gorgeous. Can see La from the top. Xo”

“Good dog walking but do keep an eye out for coyotes. We (Roxy the Finnish Spitz) and I do the portion from Paradise Canyon School to the Green Lane access. Some interesting house are on view and, in summer, lots of hummingbirds.”

“The original! Very fun to have played. Challenges here, easy shots there. Can be confusing at times to find the way around, but there's so many baskets, you can make a few shots of your own!”
