Fruits growing everywhere, hummingbirds and butterflies everywhere you look, a pool that is just perfect, and I actually drank the best tea I have ever tasted there. “The most perfect California beach house experience! The Surfrider Hotel feels so special and homely - a refreshing change from larger hotels. The team are super friendly and made me feel right at home from the get-go! As soon as I entered my room it smelt amazing and everything was immaculate. The fresh white sheets, Parachute robes and personalized welcome note was such a nice touch. I spent most of my time on the roof deck (the perfect spot to watch the sunset). You also have to try their spicy margarita! I had the pleasure of meeting the owners Emma and Matt and they were super friendly and showed genuine care for all the guests, it was as if I was staying in their home. “We stayed here with a group of 15 for a Malibu wedding. The property was exactly what we needed. There were more than enough beds such that no-one had to share. There were 5 or 6 bathrooms so we were all able to get ready at the same time, plenty of sheets/towels, and Monic and Shae provided rules and tips beforehand and via (convenient) texting. Highlight of the property is definitely the pool and large living / dining / kitchen area, both with EXPANSIVE views. Cellular reception in the mountains is spotty, but the fast WiFi worked great. The property has some unique characteristics that make it a treasure to explore - but if you are looking for a modern high-brow mansion this probably isn't it. The property is surrounded by amazing hiking / running trails for outdoor adventures. Loved our time here, and will definitely reach out to Monic and Shae if we get the chance to come back to Malibu anytime soon.”

“Hey it's Topanga Beach! Maybe you'll get a nice contact high. Maybe you'll see some surfers fighting. Maybe both in the same day! Usually people are pretty cool here. The area just north of the creek outlet is for sure more 420 friendly from what I can smell.”
