“Angela and her team were so great to work with! I sent her some photos of what I wanted to look like, and Angela replicated exactly what I wanted on the first try. It was literally perfect! I have thick, red curly hair, which is very difficult to work with, but Angela was able to work with it so easily and give me exactly what I wanted. She also used some of my own products that match my red hair and fair skin. On my wedding day, Angela and her team showed up on time, and we even finished early, which allowed me to relax a little before getting dressed. She even gave me a touchup kit that I could use later in the day to make sure my makeup stayed flawless for all my photos. Armie and Kasie did hair and makeup for my family members, and they were also amazing to work with. We all ended up getting false lashes because they looked so great when Angela put them on me! My family and I had such a fun experience with Angela and her team, and I highly recommend her for your wedding, or any other event.”

“I've waited 3+ years for Vicky to come back. She was the former owner and hairstylist of Hair Matters 3 years ago before she sold it due to familial priorities. FYI - if you are wondering why Hair Matters's old reviews are top notch (if they are still there). Let's get to the point. I'm a vain person and have paid across the spectrum of price points for a good, thorough haircut. I've been to salons that charged me $45+ to $12 cuts in the SGV & West LA for many years until I met Vicky back in 2010 when she owned Hair Matters. I went to her until 2012-ish before she sold her old business. I've moved to San Jose and am still making an effort to see her monthly in LA because her haircuts are the best. I trust her and occasionally have told her to do whatever she wants to do with my hair. She just opened this shop in December 2015 and I'm excited that she is back. It's $20, but the attention to detail is BEYOND worth it and I hate it when I would go home and see uneven hairs or stray hairs sticking out (after pulling my ears forward) after a hair cut, which has occurred to me before. I actually think she should charge more for the time, effort, input, and skill she puts into my haircuts, but I'm not complaining about the price. In addition to the detail and precision of her cuts, she takes her time and communicates with you to ensure that you get the haircut you actually want. She is totally honest if the cut is do-able or not because different hair types can yield certain results. She always make an effort to be creative if their are discrepancies between your hair type and the cut you want by making it work for you. More importantly, she tries to make the haircut last and cuts it in a way that looks good after having it grown out. She takes that into account and doesn't give haircuts that look good until you go home and wash it. Quality, Precision, Honest Input, Approachable Demeanor and SKILLS = Vicky!”

“Sonia’s salon is perhaps one of the best salons in the Monterey Park area and here’s why. The owner Sonia is one of the hardest working salon owners I have ever met. Between taking care of her grandchildren she’s a down to earth hair dresser that knows how to cut not just women’s hair but men’s hair. She’s a great stylist with a great sense of dress and style, not to mention she strikes a similarity to the first lady Melania. Everytime I come here I know that I get a great style with a no-nonsense approach, whereas I’ve found salons in the Monterey Park area that tend to sometimes push other services such as perms and certain style cuts. Sonia has always given me a great cut everytime. She is familiar with current styles and is great with cutying Asian hair. You can tell she takes real pride in her work. Not to mention her reasonable price she charges. It’s advised that you call ahead of time to confirm her schedule. I highly recommend Sonia’s salon if you want a great cut!”
