“We used to really enjoy coming here. Then after covid they started closing at 8:00 on a weekend which I thought interesting. The food can be good but a lot of times it’s not hot. A previous visit the food was cold so we asked them to heat it up. 15 minutes later we asked about it and they had forgotten about it. They didn’t even offer a pastry as an apology. We decided to give them another shot a year later and it was a little better. The requested items that we wanted served hot were not so we had to wait for them to hear it up. This place could be good but it’s alright. Plus the carpet is really worn and old and needs to be replaced. They don’t seem to really pay attention to the details.”

“Very popular place each morning for good reason, the couple there are very nice people. The food is also delicious. I got the number 4, ham, egg, cheese and sausage crissont sandwich, very tasty. The crissont is huge. I don't where they get these from. Makes for very satisfying breakfast. Be prepared because of the popularity you may have to wait. They also have doughnuts, great selection of fruit smoothies, of which I tried the wild berry. Delicious also, very refreshing on a warm day. I really like going there because the owners are so nice.”

“What an absolute gem this shop is. We had our wedding cake made by Pastries by Nancy & oh boy it did not disappoint. When we had to go try cakes from different vendors, all we could talk about was the cakes from this shop. The owner was also very helpful & knowledgeable about the cakes & what could & wouldn’t work. The two women who served us were friendly and had glow of real happiness on them, which is almost spooky for Los Angeles, but all the more remarkable because of it. The food was very good +- I had the chilaquiles, My friend had the heuvos rancheros, and they serve up a beautiful warm bolillo, which made me wish I could come back and sample their bakery in a more systematic fashion. the chilaquiles were very good but my bar is very high, unfairly so, I reckon. I think the HR were good too. I very much liked their unsweetened cafe olla, which I think I ruined by putting in half and half in a fit of distraction. Well it wasn't ruined but it would have been better without it. And I love what they did to make the sidewalk seating a friendly grotto like porch -- a pleasant oasis of character in this pretty bleak commercial neighborhood. I'd return again if I were for some reason in the neighborhood again...”

They also do not leave that gross grease stain on the box & weird grease aftertaste in my mouth that most donuts give me. They obviously use a much better quality oil/fry system.
