“Second time ordering from Trail Kitchens as this time I did a special order on New Years Eve with Hans the founder. As was impressed he answered the phone to do a last minute order for us before the end of the year. I ordered a lot of components to create a van build for a 2018 Ford Transit Mid Roof. The process took 6 months or so to get my order. As the van components are top grade quality and workmanship i don't think you could buy anywhere else in America. We selected a 12v water heater which is marine grade as the unit comes complete with all the plumbing and wiring included and installed. The unit also comes with a sink with a 5 gallon grey water tank and a fresh water tank of 15 gallons. Who does that these days to where it is truly plug and play and installed better then I could do with over 30 years as a professional Auto Technician. Was going to go with Bamboo look for the cabinets but did a last minute switch to Black as glad Hans allowed at Trail Kitchen as these cabinets are not only pieces of art but totally beautiful. I am forwarding some pictures as that are not installed yet but are in the van as to show the cabinet builds. The bed frame will be cut to the size required when the unit is installed. Very happy with my purchase and will definitely come back to them in the future. When completed I will update the photos as these now don't do the kit justice as your even seeing the components included. Thanks”

“I was supposed to stay elsewhere one night but my reservation got lost. I booked a night here via a third party site because it had the best rates (that wasn't a sketchy-looking motel). When I arrived, lo and behold, my reservation was technically on the wrong date. (At this point, it was nearly 3am, and I could not check in until 3pm). Cue the EXCELLENT customer service. I was helped by an employee at the front desk named Dana. He was not only incredibly friendly, but extremely understanding and accommodating. He SAVED my evening, my sanity, and my "relaxing" vacation! He saw that there was a room available, got me checked in, and I was able to finally rest after a LONG day of driving from San Francisco to Truckee late at night. He not only helped me snag a room, but he helped me reverse a complicated issue with the third party site (note to self -- call a property DIRECTLY for availability, deals, and more because 3rd party sites take so much from small businesses!). The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I had considered cancelling my booking at the other resort so I could stay here longer...but I will be sure to keep this amazing hotel in mind for a near-future visit. Breakfast and coffee are included, as well as gorgeous outdoor scenery. It is also very conveniently located. Very special thank you to Dana. Your kindness, your professionalism, and SUPERB customer service is what I hope all future travelers get to experience!”

“I recently got married this past August at PJ's and it was absolutely incredible! I am so happy I was able to find this place because it fit mine and my husband's personality so well. Dana was so wonderfully helpful throughout the entire process. She was so professional and patient with all the questions I had, and I had a lot! When we first visited PJ's it was in January and covered in snow but I could still picture how beautiful a wedding would be there. When we visited the second time it was for our menu tasting. It was important to me that I find a place that could have vegan options for me and PJ's definitely delivered. If I had requested it, they would have made the entire menu vegan but I opted for vegetarian with vegan options and the food was delicious! We got so many compliments that the food was not only delicious but also pleasantly unique for a wedding. We had a buffet style of enchiladas with cilantro rice, pesto pasta with vegetables and truffle potatoes, and the best beet salad I will ever eat. Even people who don't typically eat beets enjoyed this salad! The chef and staff did an amazing job! Everything was so well organized and put together exactly how we wanted. If you're thinking about getting married or even just dining in Truckee, PJ's is absolutely worth checking out. We could not have picked a better venue if we had to do this all over again.
