“Although very small with the smallest gift shop I've ever seen, this is worth a visit if you have any interest in seals and sea lions. Although you have to remain quiet when near the animals, you can get a pretty good view of the animals and watch them interact with each other. Parking can be kind of iffy due to the nature of the Canyon road. (There is a free parking lot, but it is pretty small and can fill up quickly.)”

“We took our family, 1 teenager, 2 younger kids as well as grandparents in their 70’s and 80’s for a day trip to the tide pools. You need to make sure to check the tide reports before going and plan accordingly. We went at dusk which was great to have the sunset as well as low tide. We went about an hour before low tide and spent a few hours there and found numerous sea creatures. Of course regular, small fishes, hermit crabs, crabs, and snails. But then we also found sea stars, numerous giant sea slugs and once an octopus!”

“Parking was difficult on the busy highway. The park was beautiful. No lights so closes at dusk and on Wednesdays (same day as Costa Mesa). My dog had fun running and exploring. Great exercise for us both.”

“Absolutely love this hike. Get up there a couple times per week and the views are always spectacular. Long uphill to start but then evens out and is well worth any initial struggle. A multitude of options once you get to the ridge - head toward Crystal Cove State Park or into Laguna and take an uber back to staging area or hike back depending on your schedule.”

“I recently had a main sewer line in need of repair. I called a plumber who I had been using for years in Laguna their name starts with a (A) for those of you who are local, and it was a nightmare getting them to even come out. As a matter of fact they called back 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment and hung up saying it was too late in the day to come!! This mind you was a emergency call. McKeown came out the same day fixed the problem which was a huge repair. They were prompt, professional, and the job was done in no time, at a very fair cost!! 10 STARS!! I will only call them from this point on. And I won't write a negative review on the (A) company but very disappointed in them. Already called McKeown today for another job!! Customer service is key these days!!”

“Really beautiful preserve. Parking situation is very easy; park, pay, sign in and you're good to go. The trail is very well taken care of and even 1/8 of a mile into it you feel like you're far away from where you really are. Gate closes around 5pm so make sure you plan accordingly but ti's a beautiful spot”

“Primitive campsites. Hike in is about 2.5 - 3 miles uphill. Might be a lot of people hiking and biking by, but there's some privacy from the trail. Pit bathroom close by. No water. No fire rings. Many sites have a table, some have a trash can. Some sites can only be accessed by walking through another site. Great views of the ocean and wilderness area. ”
