“I found this bakery by accident, but it was the best accident that I could have ever hoped for!! I needed a birthday cake for a special party, and I took a chance on The Gateaux Shoppe. Sally, helped me decided on the type and style of my cake, and it turned out perfect! She told me that my guests would love it, and they did. In fact, they couldn't stop talking about it, even into the next day! I choose the Snickerdoodle cake with cream cheese icing filling. YUMMY! Large party so I'm not sure if that anything to do with it but it wasn't otherwise busy but they got orders wrong as in it was ordered a certain way but it came out differently. I didn't get my food until everyone else was almost finished. Even a re-done order came back to the table before I got mine. They did offer something to tide me over but just wasn't interested. But really good food and will probably try again.”

The tortilla almost seems homemade. The hash browns and bacon are a bit weird just to let you know. The orange juice is freshly squeezed and delicious if not pricey. “Deonna D. from the Pasadena location helped me out an spoke to me on the phone 4 an extended length of time she was absolutely delightful extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all questions I had. My mother absolutely loves the cookies and she got me started on them she eats them every morning with her coffee and now I'm addicted to them as well. It is very unlikely that my mom ever buys baked goods and when she does it is a statement in itself I realize in society today most people are not handy or familiar in the kitchen but is quite the opposite when it comes to my mom and the women in my family. These cookies are a staple in our household. More than half my meals have all been homemade since I can remember so basically if you're someone wondering whether to try these cookies or not in the time it has taken you to read this you could have already gone to the store and gotten some, because unless it comes from my mom's house you're not going to get much better.”

“I recently ordered mini pastries (muffins, scones, croissants, donut holes) for a baby shower breakfast. I thought they had made a mistake because the pastries were almost regular size. ALL of the pastries were delicious, flavorful, light & fluffy and everyone loved them. Anita was a pleasure, and helpful, as well as the rest of the staff, and she even helped me out to the car. This was my first visit, and it is obviously a well known hidden gem as there were people in line out the door. I would definitely recommend and will go back in the future.... “At first, I was a bit hesitant to give a review. After all, doing so would expose my addiction to the sweet taste of the fried dough we call donuts, but this place merits all 5 stars and more. So let me start by saying I got an assorted box of a dozen tasty, moist, baked to perfection treats—all to myself. If I am honest, I wasn't expecting too much. I mean. I've had Winchell's donuts before, and as a recovering donut addict, I knew what to expect. At least that's what I thought. But then the smell of dough and frosting felt enchanting as I walked back to my place, holding the box that was too big for my small hands. I could taste the sprinkles, the peanuts, the glaze in every step I took. Then I opened the box, and it was like discovering gold, but better! I told myself I would only have one, but I swear I heard angels sing in my first bite of that homemade blueberry donut. It was love at first bite! One blueberry donut turned into a glazed twist, a strawberry sprinkle, and when I least expected it, I was changing into my comfy pants while holding a donut in my mouth. The selection is broad and made with diligence. 10/10, I recommend this place for any occasion. The owner is ok, too. I don't know him well, but anyone who can wake up every day to make sure these pieces of heaven are fully stocked and made fresh every day is a donut God in my book. If you live in the area, this is a must-have, and if you don't, it is a must-have too. Don't sleep on the only Winchell's in La Habra!”
