Grew up skiing all of the sierras, but have settled in to going to Northstar, still skiing all around just always come back to Northstar in between as a base. not an owner just have become a reluctant at first, now a big fan. The more I learned the vastness of the mountain and how to navigate it, the more I appreciated the long runs, diverse terrain and no lift lines. If your hitting lines you don't know the mountain yet, look around. Thanks Northstar for being open and keeping us safe as we enjoy the Mountains!
You want it all? You got it all. The pandemic has the ice rink closed for now and a lot of attention is being paid to keeping safe distances between people to limit the chance of infection. Great Spring conditions meant sunscreen and slushy snow. The vistas and overall layout and amenities are stunning. The condos are highly recommended as they are reasonably accommodated and convenient for getting to the lifts.
Northstar is one of the best ski resorts in Tahoe. Great skiing and snowboarding for all skill levels. Lots of groomers, good tree runs, a slew of terrain parks for beginners to experts, and the backside is fantastic on powder days... but the real reason for this review is the excellent customer service. I lost my wallet this weekend and Bryan from Lost and Found was extremely helpful. Once my wallet was located, Bryan gave me a call to let me know and confirm my address. My wallet was then priority shipped to me the next day free of charge. Amazing!! I am extremely grateful. Thanks North Star for another phenomenal season. I will certainly be renewing my season pass next year.
By far our favorite place to ski around Tahoe! Beginner friendly, huge park for freestyle friends, and lots of more challenging runs for experienced skiers! It’s also so easy to park for free and then take the shuttle up to the gondola and lifts. Plus the village is adorable and great to hang out in after a long day of skiing!
Overall, the ski resort is very nice. The snow is usually really good, amazing powder after snow storms. Their terrain parks were well maintained and they have jumps for all. The backside is very fun and not the most difficult, so your whole family can go on it. However, the lines at Northstar are the worst I have ever seen. Each line takes at least 15 minutes on weekends, but most days it is worth the wait.
I play basketball here every Thursday and it's a great environment. Everyone has fun and plays together.
I have relatives who attend church here and it's nice to be here, though I've only visited this particular building twice. The exterior architecture is very ugly, though; needless to say, this building was constructed during an era when ugly, blocky architecture was in vogue, possibly at the same time the old Provo and Ogden temples were built.
It's a beautiful place to be on Sunday. Fellow worshippers are great and kind. It has a great Tongan Congregation, whom are always happy.
