Awesome almost 7 miles one way to the tee awesome views this is a must do hike so put it on your bucket list.
The dripping springs trail head is the start of the dripping springs trail. About a quarter mile in it forks, to the right of the fork the dripping springs trail continues and the left is the wild horse trail. The dripping springs trail is about 7 miles while the wild horse is 10. They both seem to go to the tops of the mountains. I did a few miles of the dripping springs trail and it was very cool, the views are really great and Im excited to try the wild horse next.
Super cool trail and well marked. We did about 6.4 miles and it took 2 hours to complete. The blooms right now are amazing. According to the map it loops around. Not sure though. According to some other hikers once you get higher up the path it isn’t so well maintained. Maybe next time.
And don’t forget your adventure pass or $5.00 cash. Luckily we met some really cool people in the parking lot that let us borrow cash. We repaid him via Venmo 😉
Great hike, been here several times. Good for beginners, but also can be a very long hike for those who are experienced.
Hike takes you up 3,400 ft. As you go up, colorful flora & landscape change a few times, with pine trees at the top & an excellent view to the west.
