“Great location - just a short walk from the beach, making it easy to make multiple trips in a day (if needed). Found the number of separate bedrooms, number of beds, and size of beds very accommodating for 2 families with small children, as it allowed for a number of different sleeping arrangements. Dining area was large enough for a group, making happy breakfast memories. Kids also loved the toys and books hidden in the closets. Only downside is that the kitchen was a bit small and lacked any storage space for pantry-type groceries.”

“Les Artistes Inn is a charming, eclectic, boutique hotel experience. From the moment I walked through the door and heard the Mediterranean music playing in the open air lobby, I forgot I was on the main drag of a California beach town and instead felt like I had teleported to an old world Spanish hacienda. The inn was designed by the owner, who is an architect. Each room is unique and inspired by a famous artist or style. Our party stayed in the O’Keefe and Zen rooms. The open air lobby and courtyard captures old world charm with fountains, seating, and beautiful plants. The location was ideal, with the inn just steps away from the main street and within walking distance of the beach and lots of great restaurants. Despite the charm and creative design, the Inn is not for the traveler seeking standard, modern amenities. The room was nice because if it’s theme and design, but requires some general maintenance. The handle on the door to the bathroom didn’t latch, the tile work and grout on the floor and in the shower are overdue for repair, the walls need a fresh coat of paint, and the mini fridge froze our food (there was no way to adjust the temperature settings ourselves). On the plus side, the water pressure was fantastic and the sheets were really nice. Based on previous reviews commenting on the dirty linens, I packed a set of sheets just in case the ones in our room were dirty, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the sheets were quite nice and in excellent condition. This small Inn is run by just three employees, all of whom were abundantly hospitable, thoughtful, and proud of their work. We enjoyed chatting with them and hearing about the inn’s history. They were always available to answer questions and provided great customer service. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique place to stay in a vibrant beach town. The location and service were great, and what it lacked in updates, it accounted for in charm and creativity. Will you find a spider awaiting you in the shower? Possibly. Will the doors creak and the handles stick? Almost certainly. However, if you can embrace the quirks, you are bound to have an enjoyable and memorable stay!!”

“I love my jet peel facials with Jane! Jane did a wonderful job with my facial as well as with helping me set up my home skin routine. My skin looks amazing and I will continue to come here to maintain my wonderful results. I highly recommend Skin Bar by Jane for your skin care needs, along with some relaxation during your facial.”

“Had a great stay here. Very reasonable price. Beautiful views and a short walk for amazing sunrise or sunsets. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel was quiet at night. They have a small cafe on property with very good food. We were given coupons for the cafe. The food did not disappoint.”

“The hotel was decent however it does NOT have beach access. The swimming pools are nice and the rooms are boutique-like. One downfall is of the extremely small bathroom, however, the rest of the room is nice. Ironing Set review for the business traveler: Ironing Board (9/10): This was a top quality ironing board was think fabric and smooth open/close mechanism. Iron (8/10): This was a smooth iron that had both steam and steam puff function. The iron took a little bit to heat up, but worked great. It lacked hard water stains, which is great, but also lacked a water reservoir door. All-in-all, it's a really great iron.”

“The rooms were a little dated, but clean. Staff was nice and welcoming. The best thing was the location. It walking distance of delicious food, shopping, and the beach. The landscaping, pool/hot tub, and the ocean view were amazing. Truly felt like a little paradise outside.”

“This is the second year my wife and I stayed at the Del Mar Motel on the Beach. It is the perfect place to stay in Del Mar. Very clean and comfortable and right on the beach. In walking distance to restaurants or short drive to downtown for other eating establishments. The staff is very helpful and friendly. A special recommendation to Jorge who is extremely friendly and will answer any questions you have. He is also a very hard worker there and does just about everything. Great motel and highly recommended.”
