“Beautiful hike didn't think it would be that great of a hike. I was dead wrong as we kept ascending up to the peak. Started at Riparian trail to Stelzer Peak and a lot of beautiful places in between. The only difficult part was right before the peak the incline is no joke. When you look at the last part of the hike you may feel like throwing in the towel. I understand, if your not used to walking or hiking you may want to tackle this slowly..... Or gradually make your way up. There are spots with some shade to take breaks in between on your way up. I would definitely recommend this hike for anyone, saw families hiking thru the lower part of the trail and only 2 other hikers at the top. It's a great hike going up and down. Parking is not free for this one but only 3 dollars there are camp sites, tot lots for the kids, bathrooms not portapotties. Didn't get a chance to explore the rest of the park but worth coming back.”

“This is the official start of the El Cajon trail hike. Free parking untill 5pm; if you think you will be longer than that park on the street. About the hike: this is one of the most strenuous and serious hikes in SD. I am an adventure trail runner and hiker, and how done this hike bunch of times. Best season to go is winter, and avoid going anytime May -October. This hike is known to be one of the hottest around. You gotta be prepared...sun hat, sunscreen, plenty of water and food. Earlier in the day you go, better. If you are lucky enough to go on overcast day, you are GTG! Be prepared for a lot of "up and down" and not steady climbs, which makes it that more difficult. Overall, great challenging hike, but come prepared, leave early, and bring water!”

“What a great hike! Dog came along and enjoyed the walk as well. Like a real oasis, the temperature goes considerably down under the trees. Flowers, butterflies, birds... plenty of gorgeous nature and impressive views to enjoy. Restrooms available at the entrance. No stores to get water near by so bring plenty of water with you. No handicap access. A stroller with offroad wheels may work.”

“A special Audubon Society Wilderness Area, this has been the 60th year I visited. Despite wildfires it has come back very well. Always knowledgeable docents. Check when they're open. A real sanctuary how special Outdoors. Adjacent to County Wilderness Area”

“Our first visit to the Barona Casino was a good experience. There was a massive amount of parking lot space, plus a multi-story parking garage. On the second floor of the parking garage, the elevator will open into the casino on the second level, where the area is a world of slot machines. Our goal for this trip was to try one of the casino's four restaurants. On the casino’s floor, is a Buffet area where the price of a ticket is $44.95 a person. On the floor, one level below the casino are three of the restaurants, an Italian a Steakhouse, and the Plaza Grill. After viewing all the menus, we decided to select Italian. However, the Italian & Steakhouse doors don’t open until 5:00 PM. The Plaza Grill begins service at 4:00 PM, making our destination choice easy. When we entered and selected an open table, a waiter appeared with menus and an offer to get us drinks. Right after we ordered our drinks, the waiter said he would be right back and would bring us our chips. Chips? Chips weren't a selection but are considered part of the Grill's customer service. Our drinks and the unknown chips arrived in about 5-minutes. The chips in a basket are freshly made crinkle styled potato chips, with a side bowl of onion dip. These chips were a pleasant surprise in taste and presentation. We didn't wait for much more than 10-minutes for an order of Lobster Roll and a Sliced Roasted Turkey Sandwich to arrive. The Lobster Roll with French fries, coleslaw, and a large dill pickle slice arrived and filled a large dinner plate. The meal looked just like the menu image, and it elevated my partner’s need to see how it tasted. The Sliced Roasted Turkey sandwich with Bacon laced Potato Salad. The size of this sliced turkey sandwich on wheat bread filled a 10-inch dinner plate. I had experienced a sandwich that large. This sandwich and the potato side item will be enough for three more pleasant lunches (see attached image). Their lobster roll can be served two ways. For this meal, it was ordered cold. If the option were to get the lobster meat warm, they would have heated the lobster in warm butter. My partner reported the sandwich was good, but it had too much Mayonnaise. The excessive amount of Mayonnaise reduced the lobster taste. If you go and select the lobster roll, tell the waiter not to use a lot of Mayonnaise. Would we go back? The answer is yes. For us, the drive is ~40 miles one-way. Our waiter was Caesar. He was attentive, quick, and the answered question with enough details that the food matched what he said. He was also patient and pleasant when we spoke. If Caesar is an example of how all the others in their staff provide service, if this restaurant were closer, we would visit often.”

“Great casino. The pool and rooms are amazing. This casino in my opinion has one of the best suites in all of California. Their food such as the Buffet, Steakhouse, fast foods, and gift shops are great. Highly recommended coming here. One problem though, if you are under 18 you will not be able to enter the casino to where the main area after 10 PM without a parent/guardian.”

“Received a gift card and Spa Barona made the appt process easy via website. Walked into a really well decked out waiting room/gift shop. Loved that they had refreshments while you waited. Desiree was my person and she was so welcoming and friendly. I did my first hot stone massage and it was awesome! Also enjoyed reflexology massage as well. The changing room had these delicious chocolates! When I came out, the staff had brought out a lovely birthday surprise treat.....enjoyed a fruit tart while overlooking the golf course. I rarely give 5 stars as usually there is always room for improvement but for Spa Barona it was a stellar experience!! Can't wait to go back!”

“Why stress out and wait in line at the delicious buffet when you can get your delicious food served to you at Sage Cafe?! They have their warm fry bread only at dinner time and mmm mmm it’s so worth sitting down and enjoying. You’re lucky if you can dine by the window with the beautiful view of the nature surrounding Barona. The servers are friendly and attentive and the food here is good quality! I also like coming here for breakfast/brunch :)”

“Known for their $1 "world famous" street tacos, I suggest pulling an audible at Three Amigos. Instead, go for Chato's breakfast burrito. You're welcome! Yes, $1 tacos with either carne asada, pollo asado, carnitas or potatoes sound good, but their diminutive size, compared with a $3.50 Chato's breakfast burrito, just doesn't seem food logical. I mean, c'mon, Chato's bb comes loaded with egg, cheese, skilled-fried potatoes, bacon, ham, green onion, tomato. Oh yeah, if that didn't make your stomach growl, slices of avocado for good measure! This burrito is all that & will keep you filled up while wasting away your life savings on a Wheel of Fortune slot machine. One of the food options in the Barona Casino food court, I have to say Three Amigos is the best option! Cheap prices, bomb ass Mexican food - you can't go wrong. The only negative I can come up with, and it's a small one, is that Three Amigos closes at 2am For the hardcore pulling an all nighter, it would be so awesome to scarf down a Chato's breakfast burrito before collapsing into bed around 4:30 in the morning. Alas, Three Amigos closes 2am and opens at the rather late time of 9am. I'd think a place serving breakfast burritos would open earlier than that, don't you? Regardless, a minor caveat to an otherwise awesome foodie find. Service was good. The cook were quick in preparation of our food. Help yourself to some chiles, green onions or what not while in line. Hey, you gotta eat! Why not eat hearty and cheap, while you're at it? Three Amigos delivers the goods when it comes to Mexican food and I will, for sure, have a couple more Chato's breakfast burritos when I visit Barona Casino again. Highly recommend! “One of the best values around! They have a good variety of ice cream. Also, you can customize your soft serve custard. I'm a fairly basic guy that likes his vanilla custard with warm caramel and sprinkles! I'm looking forward to trying out their root beer floats next!”
