“This library is so easy to access and request things from. Doing requests and changes online is very easy and worth accessing your account like this. There is a great selection of used books to buy and an impressive Children's section. The staff is always courteous and informative. They go above and beyond providing activities for the children when one is present. I have been going to this site for 5 years, and I have never been disappointed. They have in-person days and contactless pickup, but the hours are somewhat confusing so look it up before heading over, based on your needs.”

“Very good library! Lots of computers for use and very friendly staff. They have a great amount of books as well as magazines and papers, and if they don’t have it they are pretty good about trying to find it for you. But please, City of San Diego fix the men’s restroom here. I live further south so I won’t be coming to this branch anymore but for the sake of everyone who still does please fix it. Of the two sinks that are there only one has soap and a really bad hand dryer (no pepper towels because going green). The other sink is usually broken/out of order. And that is often the case with one or both urinals as well. There could also easily be another stall for use. I’m not going to rate the entire library solely on the bathroom and overall it’s great, but I pretty much wrote this review specifically for the bathroom. So I guess library is 5/5 men’s bathroom is 1/5.”

“For my living situation, this works for my studying right now with a personal work desk and a power outlet for my laptop. I would really prefer a better living situation, but society doesn't reward hard working skilled professionals all that well anymore. It does get pretty loud in there with kids, so I usually just have my headphones and get in the zone. Also, why does the library have such descrimination against working people hours? I mean if you work a 9-5, forget about the weekdays and the weekend hours are restricted? All in all, it's kinda ghetto and old, feels like my old public school with writing on the desk and such haha. Guess that's kinda nostalgic.”

“This is one of my favorite libraries to visit at anytime of day. There is plenty of comfortable seating and tables for extra spaces. I bring my son to the children’s area often. He likes sitting at the theatre seats and reading aloud. Yes! He can read aloud here and not disturb the rest of the library. They even have toys and puppets suitable for the little ones.”

“I forgot something at the library accidentally over the weekend. I called a few days later, Isabel picked up the phone. When I asked about my missing item, she went through the lost and found for me, put it aside, marked it with my name, and notified other staff members that I would be coming to pick it up later. Hard to find people that care enough about their work like Isabel does. Besides the great staff, library is quite nice. I went while they were doing music lessons for children in community. Quite loud, but most patrons understand that library is for reading and finding books. Friends of the bookstore is quite large and I usually find something that I want to purchase. New books are four each, older ones can be bought at two dollars. I usually spend $3-10 a visit, roughly once a quarter. I usually frequent the CMR library”

“Close to home, great location, and love that they have a great section for the the kids. They have some amazing items in the library but they are very lacking on their book selections for catalogues such as New Age and Supernatural. Even found their parenting section a bit lacking. But all in all a good literary that we enjoy going to. I do not like that they don’t give you a written note of when the books are due. Yes in 3 weeks but I wouldn’t remember when I took out the books or when they are due. It’s better to just write it down for us like regular libraries do.”

“It's a small branch library. There are a lot of hosted activities here, making it a wonderful source of enrichment activities for younger kids. If you can't find what you want on site, have it transferred. The staff are friendly, helpful and approachable. The community room usually has some great local art on display and the Friends of the Library sales are wonderful.”

“I judge a library by the people who work there. Example: do they TELL you how to do something or do they SHOW you? I was impressed by their teaching skills in this regard. I wanted to know how to use their computer printer, one of them csme from behind tje counter, took mr over and SHOWED me how to use it. Wow. THAT is great customer service! When I went to gey my library card, they explained everything it allowed, showed me around the library, how to log onto the computer and how to check out books. They even told me their hours!! I lovevthis library.”

“We always have a nice time at this beautiful urban library. They seem to have the best events. I've done everything from a Black Breastfeeding Month Celebration, to a Literacy Campaign Kick-off, to a celebration of the life of Malcolm X the library's namesake. The library itself is large and airy and well stocked. The location is great because it is caddy corner from a trolley station which makes it so nice to use public transportation to and from the library. The only drawback I would say is during large events the parking lot fills up pretty quickly but there is always ample street parking.”
