“Excellent organization. High quality musical instruction that's enjoyable for the boys. From a music-learning perspective, a real bargain since there are also weekly theory classes in addition to weekly rehearsals. They both now know more music theory than I can remember (and I played piano and violin for 12 years). The directors have a magical way with boys--I find it impressive that they can direct all that energy into the creation of such beautiful music. Both my boys sang in the choir (one still does) and they always leave in the best mood. I have always been surprised that they like this option as much (or even better) than the svarious sports they play in.”

“I've tried many reformer studios and I finally found a good one! Core Studio has great instructors, they mix up the moves each class to make it their own which helps keep it from getting boring. The class goes quick, the results are AMAZING (especially for the glutes and abs. These classes help target those muscles that sometimes get missed during regular workouts!) and the music is very upbeat making the workout a fast and fun one! I'd recommend.”

“This is a fantastic daycare and school. The children have lots of outside time, about 1 hour, 2 times a day. They have two playgrounds, and they put up giant shade sails in the summer for extra shade. The school is adjacent to Greer Park, and the older kids also go there from time to time. Each week, the kids have a music, chinese, spanish, and a movement class. The teachers use Montessori teaching methods with traditional Montessori jobs. They track each child’s progress individually and can introduce new topics when the child is ready and interested. They allow for children still learning to focus and incorporate activities that help teach focus. It really works - the children seem to be beyond their peers at other schools. I’ve seen 4 year olds blending letters into words, and I’m surprised at all the skills the children have. There is a low teacher to child ratio, compared to other schools. The teachers are great at turning the inevitable children’s social issues into teaching moments. The kids are really well behaved in general. The teachers are very tolerant about potty training, and they just request plenty of clothing and bedding to keep up with accidents. The school vacation schedule matches most employers. There are no long vacations. There is extended care if it is needed, from 7:30-6. One of their classrooms has a chinese immersion program.”

“This is a wonderful church community. Everyone is warm and welcoming during the services and afterwards with visitors, helping to answer questions, inviting to events, etc. - it feels like a loving church home. They also have a really nice Reading Room on California Ave. in second downtown Palo Alto. Lots of easy parking in a nice neighborhood.”

“To be quite blunt, this academy has it all. From the exponentially friendly staff, to the coaches, who are not afraid of going the extra mile to make sure you grasp the inner workings of tennis. Not to mention the One Stop Pro Shop, where I managed to purchase tennis shoes, a racket, and have my tennis racket restrung. All of this orchestrated by an amazing team of coaches lead by Kim Grant, who played, and then coached on the Pro Tour.”

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in... ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25 I hadn't eaten for four days. I was feeling tired and dizzy. It has been tough - I've been sleeping outside and it's so cold, I usually can't even fall asleep well. I felt lonely. I felt depressed. I saw online that this church gave out food for hungry people. And it was free. I couldn't afford any food, but I was hungry, so I went. Thank you for the food. Thanks to the volunteers for being nice to us. I feel there is hope when I see churches do this - to help those in need. They didn't try to get me to do religious things or be converted. (I wouldn't mind praying - but I'm just making it clear that it wasn't one of those "eat and you must convert" kind of deals). Thank you.”

“UPDATE: a school is only as good as its teachers; administration and philosophy can only take things so far of course. Emerson had two great teachers, but for whatever reason it did not re-contract with its upper elementary teacher this year. She was heading towards a decade at Emerson, universally loved by students and parents alike; a high performer, who's students transitioned into middle school effortlessly. Whatever the reason it can't be a good one, and as such I have become hesitant to recommend Emerson. The rest of my review below still applies if they can replace this star and address the administrative woes that led to her loss. Imagine a school in session the same number of days you work, and for 9 hours each day so you can drop off and pick up your child outside of work hours. And no more stringing together camps and vacations to cover school breaks designed to allow farm children time to work the harvests because the school only closes for legal holidays. Now imagine your child wants to be in school that long, and doesn't miss the breaks. Why? Perhaps they appreciate no homework, the same way you like to leave work at work. Or they don't realize the length of the day because its filled with a full curriculum, including art, music, P.E., two languages, sciences, history, and of course the core subjects. They also likely appreciate being able to advance in the core subjects at their own pace. Second grade math, fourth grade reading; wherever your child is and however they progress, Emerson's teachers will help your child learn. And progressing at their own pace means there is nothing to fall out of step with, so you take vacations whenever and for however long you want. The only thing left to wonder is why all schools are not like Emerson. ”

“We had a phenomenal experience with Carmel Stone. They were able to locate the last slab in the entire country of a discontinued stone and get it for us for our kitchen! We also purchased a beautiful mosaic back splash for our bathroom that arrived quickly. Everything in perfect condition. Yesenia was wonderful to work with. We will continue to use Carmel Stone for all our stone needs!”

“I really enjoyed working with Gembuilt. They were so easy to work with, great energy, took charge and handled every last detail so you don't have to worry. I felt like I could take a step back and let them take control. The site visits were always a great experience because the project manager came prepared with items to go over. I would definitely use her for future renovation projects!”

“I needed to program a code onto my VW Rabbit using VAG-COM. Other people were asking exorbitant amounts for a 5 minute job. This guy did it for a fraction. Highly recommend!”

“Pros Plumbing was very friendly and helpful. My sister recommended them when my drain line backed up. I called and got an appointment for the same day. Bill showed and he was very nice and gave me a set price of $120 to clear my line, which was actually cheaper than what another plumber charged me for the same job about a year ago, so needless to say I assumed the price was fair and had him do the job. I am very happy I ended up calling this company. I would call them again, and you should too if you looking for a good, friendly plumber.”

“Nice open field park for soccer, baseball and has b-ball courts. Kid area. Restroom. I wonder how many people may remember that the Palo Alto Drive-In Theatre was here up to early'70 when there was a drive-in at almost every other US 101 exit !!”
