Generously spaced campsites and lovely views. Beach access via well-maintained stairs and path. Showers and flush toilets not a wilderness experience but very nice campground.
We loved this spot so much! So did our dogs! They wouldn't let us get a campsite because of our utility trailer. They said v it was too big to turn around... Not sure I believe that one! Lol but, we slept in our trailer down the road. There is an access trail to the beach and you don't have to pay! Even snuck into camp area and used the coin operated showers... We will definitely be back soon!
One of the best campgrounds in the State. Clean bathrooms and showers.
Make sure you bring quarters to use the showers..$ 2.00 for 5 minutes of shower.
Bring your own wood(oak) for your fire as the bundles of wood they sell are $10.00 each and they are pine. Which burns too fast.
We paid $16.00 for our box of oak and it lasted for 2 nights of bonfire with our starter logs.
Other campers where spending $40.00 per night for wood from the Camp host.
Bathrooms down on the beach are clean and there are 2 fire rings down on the beach.
This is a very wonderful campground I ever went. The weather is nice and better compare to sunset state beach. The beach access is a long way down and a bit not very convenient for families who have little kids.
The rangers are very nice and super friendly. Camp host drives around and sells firewood. Never seen someone got fined or warned.
A campsite next to ours had celebration of kid birthday day and all their friends moved their vehicles to the site next to us. So totally 4 cars parked there and didn't get fined even though I saw ranger passed by the site at least twice. The families also decided to pitch all tents in one site. Adults were talking loudly day and night and kids were starting yelling in the early morning. But it was still my best night because last time I went there and a group of community also booked many sites. The people next to us were even smoking at their campsite and walk around with his cigarette. At late night some crazy women were signing loud and laughing crazy at quiet time with loud and heavy bass music playing all night. After I went and told them to lower their volume and quiet and let they know it was already quiet hour, they even burst into laughing and saying what quiet time is. It is my worst camping experience in the state park which should be one of my favorite.
Relax!!!
