Went on the 2.5 mile coastal loop and spent an hour on this lovely secluded beach. The fern grotto was amazing!
Nicely hidden cute beach. Worth checking out as you are hiking on Wilder to Ohlone. Can see seals from there on a good day. It’s secluded and quiet.
The beach is beautiful and only a couple mile walk.
Very cool hidden jem. If you're already at Wilder Ranch, take the time to walk down to this grotto. We'll worth the minimal effort.

Old Landing Cove Trail is a 2.3 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Santa Cruz, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
This can be extended northward to Fern Grotto Beach (a 1.5-mile ride from the parking lot). A small cave here has ferns hanging from its ceiling, fed by a freshwater seep, a magic find.

Butterflies led our way down the Old Cove Landing Trail out to the coastal bluffs. We rounded a bend to a view of pristine Wilder Beach - completely off-limits to humans as a nature preserve. The water sparkled shades of aquamarine, and the sand was the smoothest buttery white I'd ever seen. It d...
