“My (new) husband and I wanted a low key Halloween wedding. We chose this courthouse as Santa Cruz is a beautiful and quirky/fun location. We were not expecting anything special, but were thrilled with everything! Our paperwork was processed quickly, and we were allowed to go into the wedding room to take pictures. The room was specially decorated with skeletons, spiders, halloween candy, cookies, and even sparkling cider for us. Our officiant was amazing, and dressed as Prince Charming. He read special Halloween-themed vows that were absolutely perfect. Every person we met seemed extremely happy to have us, and very excited to celebrate the holiday! I would definitely recommend this location to any other spooky couples (or any couples, really) who want a beautiful, personal, and fun ceremony. Thank you again so much to the staff of the Santa Cruz Courthouse for making our wedding ceremony a memory we will treasure forever. ”

“I went to office to get information on property I own in Watsonville. The first person on the first floor gave me all information I needed and told me to go to second floor for documents. I did so and spoke to a woman who handed me a paper and said all info was at those computers over there. So after 20 min. of searching I went back to the window and spoke to Erick Estrada. He said the guy on the first floor gave me all info I needed. Erick charged $4.oo and handed me the copies I needed. Erick was by far the most helpful of any one I have dealt with in that building. “Brilliant! Everything is here! Beaches, hiking trails, fishing, biking, surfing, amusement park, world class and casual Restaurants, theaters, shows, niche shops, and things you won't find in places with big corporate presences. Everything in your search for wildlife or just wild life. The only thing that's a little hard to find here are chain restaurants with their noisy dining rooms and generic menus. The weather is temperate; wildly warm days 80± usually come with a cooling sea breeze, cooler days have bright warning sun (after the marine layer burns off). During Fall and winter, even the monarch butterflies stop over here in giant groups. Everything you could ever ask of a vacation or hometown. Except: Things can be priceypricey, but Google guides can show you how to avoid that. Somewhat. Other than the mobile home parks, there is almost no affordable housing. And, very little diversity like you might expect anywhere else in California. If you're visiting California for the first time, make Santa Cruz your first stop. You won't be sorry. Bigger CA cities might have more but the cost is long, traffic polluted drives to get to them. Santa Cruz is concentrated, easy to navigate (if you listen to a few tips) and traffic is easy to avoid. Mostly. Come join us.”

After the initial call, they called me back to let me know that my 16-year-old would need to bring in a photo ID. Once we were there with our paperwork and items we were courteously and efficiently processed, including making a needed photocopy of my ID. We were in and out in under 15 minutes.
