“Went out of season just for the wintery view of the Little Truckee. I can see camping here being kind of difficult with the road being so close.”

“Wonderful place. We drove up, checked in for our day pass, and then enjoyed the main pools for a couple hours. Sauna is excellent with steam option. Showers readily available. Clothing optional of course! The temple dome is magical and the hot/cold circuit is really fun and relaxing. You can smell the minerals! A beautiful view. Currently there is some construction going on near the meditation pool but it didn’t take away from the peace. Definitely worth a visit!”

“Beautiful spot to escape the city. The roads in are not great. Good tires and ground clearance needed, as it's very rocky in some spots. Not recommended for motorhomes or RVs. Permit required for campfires. (can be aquirred through Cal Fires website) Secluded, clean bathrooms, good fire rings and tables, bear proof trash bins on site, and hose with non potable water at host site to extinguish campfires. Only $6 a night.”

“Road closures got us to this hidden gem. Tom and his wife opened their doors after hours to rest up and wet our whistles, treated us as if we were family when we got diverted and stayed in town. The Saloon is very clean. You can tell he takes pride in being the owner. He was very knowledgeable about the area with lots of great recommendations. Original gold rush tavern with cold beer, good liquor, the best hospitality. I will for sure be back to Loyalton just for... THE Golden West Saloon!”

“I have so much appreciation for what Chelsea has done with this, once fated to fall apart, property. Super cozy interior, excellent color palette, excellent amenities, overall very restful and joyful experience. I am glad we have discovered this gem when looking for a place to stay near Sierra Hot Springs. It was raining outside but The Gilded Drifter was a perfect refuge for the night. I recommend bringing your food and using the full kitchen on premises over a restaurant in town. Definitely coming back.”

“Great place to stay and unwind. We had no cell service which was fine with us. The hosts are super friendly. Clean cabins. Comfortable beds. Ours had a record player in it. The stars are awesome away from the city. Cool ambiance and decorations. Thoughtfully placed hammocks and other amenities make up for the small bathroom. Be aware you will need to take bottled water to drink. The water they have comes from a spring. It is okay to shower in.”

“I came in midweek and stayed as a walk-in reservation. The camp host was by far the best camp host I ever experienced. Vernon was super helpful and attentive. He shared lots of interesting stories and told me the best fishing holes. Bathroom was so clean for vault toilets in a campground. The sites are spacious and clean. There’s some road noise but it doesn’t bother me at all, and it’s quiet at night. Easy access for fishing too! As a woman camping alone in an area with no cell service I was slightly nervous. Vernon made me feel safe and secure. He told me he’d keep an eye out. He drove by a couple times just to check on me. He suggested I keep my car keys close, if I had any issue or heard anything to set off my panic alarm and he’d be there in a minute. Made me feel at ease, Vernon was very grandfatherly and genuinely cares for the campground, campers and wildlife. I will definitely be going back!”

“The Top Story is a wonderful place to stay. Ultra clean and well appointed, Wendy has thought of everything. The beds are comfortable. The yard is charming, a wonderful place to enjoy your coffee, read a book or paint a picture! The hosts are super helpful in assisting the guests to enjoy the surrounding area.”

“Brandon was a very nice and gracious owner. Made it very easy to rent, and very kindly allowed a later check out time since there was no one following us. He also looked for a belonging i had left behind and offered to mail it back. This kindness and flexibility is a general rarity in the overnight industry. Much appreciated!”

“Sierra hot springs has 3 main areas that they offer using hot spring water. The main pool area was by far my favorite spot. The main pool area has two options. There's a pool that has pretty warm water. It's nice to swim and chill in. But nearby the pool is a hot pool that is pretty dang hot, but so nice to soak in. My favorite spot by far. Then they had the Phoenix bath's. Which are private rooms on a First come basis. From my experience though I never ran into anybody and in my attempt to use them they did not work. So this was my least favorite area. Finally they have the meditation pool. This area was nice. I would go during the night, and there's nothing nearby. It's just trees and natural light. It was also a very quite area. It was nice but the water wasn't very warm. Once you get in, it would take about five minutes to feel like you were in normal water. Nonetheless with all the options, even clothing being optional, there's enough to keep you busy while relaxing. Finally I opted to stay in the rooms they have on site. The room was nice, beds were neat, and the commons room was basically a kitchen you had fill access too... My only complaint would be how creaky the floors were. It would be a little awkward cause there was this feeling of needing to be quite... But the floor would just creak. Anyways, I would still recommend going and enjoying the hot springs!”
