“I enjoy camping here, and believe me - the kids will love being here too. Recently I have been hired here at the park as a member of the Grounds Crew, so come by on in and stay awhile. We all look forward to seeing you, Yogi, a ND BooBoo too.”

“This is a good place to stop in for the night. It was Mother’s Day, so when we checked in after hours they left a decorated cup full of candy and a flower for my wife, and for others that would be checking in as well. Thanks for going above and beyond! The place was neat and clean. They had some construction going on in the back, but it didn’t disrupt anything. We will definitely stay again if passing through!????????”

“Our favorite spots along Rampart are in this area. There are picnic tables and toilets. Everything is pack in pack out so you wont find any trash cans. Also be aware that you are out in the wild and bears and other wild animals do live in the forests. Make sure you take all traces of food with you and drown out any fires you may have started. This recreational area is free to the public, but only remains so as long as we all do out part to keep things safe and clean.”

“I stayed here for a few days. Great place for a hike. I loved going up to lookout. Long drive to get up here. But totally worth it.”

“This is an awesome little campground/trail head on the Rampart Range Motorized Recreation area. It's a bit of a slog up a windy corrugated dirt road, but is well worth it. There are five relatively undeveloped sites in this campground, with fire rings, but no picnic tables. The biggest win for tent campers is that there are restrooms very close by. This area is primarily used by OHV users, so expect some noise and dust. The location is convenient to a number of excellent off road trails, and is also close to the Devil's Head lookout trail.”

“Pretty nice campground. Its good for a last minute decision for going camping. Went labor day weekend Friday to Saturday. Came up just about 4:45 and sites were still availble the free sites were mostly taken. But overall friendly host (Pat) and nice little campground.”

“An alternative start to the Colorado Trail, Indian Creek Trailhead is a great hiking spot in proximity to the front range. Be mindful of the fee for the area, its $6 and you pay with cash at a self-pay station. No credit cards accepted. After about 1 mile of easy hiking you encounter trail junctions where you have options. Going straight will take you to Lenny's Rest in about 5 miles, which is the junction with the Colorado Trail. Left will take you to some small campsites and right will give you 3 trail options, one of which leads back to the trailhead and the other 2 offer 5 and 11 mile loops. Overall a great place to get to early in the day without having to get up early and drive. Plus, the trails are long enough that you can spend a whole day hiking. Plus, Fido(s) are welcome on this trail, which is a must if you are planning to meet up with the Colorado Trail. I can't say much about camping there - I never have and don't plan to. There is toilet vaults and water refill stations at the trailhead so there are accommodations for longer stays.”

“It is definitely fun. Just wish we did not have so much free time. Make actives groups must go to throughout the day so everyone can stay busy and can be truly tired by the time they hit the hay.”

“Not the best view but you can watch people for their R/C airplanes and there's plenty of shade in the afternoon which is important in the summer!”

“My favorite campground of all. Always so well maintained and bath house very clean. Best sites ever, but very hard to find open sites unless you reserve 6 months in advance.”
