“My family and I went to Denny's for Christmas dinner. The kitchen staff was very shorthanded and things took a while to get ready. The afternoon hostess was a little short tempered, but we overlooked that. It was the end of her shift, so we understood working on Christmas can have that effect. Once we got seated, things still moved slowly. Our waitress and a few others waiting the tables were fabulous. They kept a smile on their faces, apologized profusely for any wait we were enduring, and maintained a positive attitude. While the wait was long, the food still came out fresh. One waitress calmly had to explain to a rude individual about how backed up the kitchen had become. What he said to her, she didn't deserve. But she maintained. This particular Denny's should be proud of the customer service work their wait staff was putting into the night. Working on Christmas is awful, but we hope that their generosity with our bill, and in turn, our generosity with our tip made everything feel right. The owners and management should be extremely happy with their wait staff.”
