Kenosha East Campground

Address: US Hwy 285, Grant, CO 80448, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“This is a fantastic place to hike and camp close to Denver. There are 2 pay campsites on either sides of US 285 and there is free dispersed camping along 126 and 126.A. If you are dispersed camping there is no potable water, no trash and no tables. I have camped for free many times in this area and love to head up here for a quick overnight in the mountains here and there. The road to the sites is pretty well maintained and can usually be passed by passenger car”

BURNING BEAR CAMPGROUND

Address: Geneva Rd, Grant, CO 80448, USA

Campground Lodging Park Cafe Restaurant Store

“Great campground if you're looking for a paid site with toilets and water. The location is beautiful and there's even dispersed camping if you hike a bit back, along the river. The lady that tends the ground and takes payment is a bit strange and will talk your ear off, but she keeps the grounds nice and has firewood for sale and lots of great information!”

Abyss Trailhead

Address: Grant, CO 80448, USA

Park

“Great place to go hiking, amazing views. During the color changing times would present the best times to go up but great views regardless. Be careful when you go up during the color changing times as people will park anywhere, stopping in the middle of the roads and reducing highways to one lane roads. Get up there early to start your hike. Abyss Lake is about 17 miles round trip but you don't have to hike all the way up to enjoy the views. At the trailhead you should fill out the paperwork for a permit, it is free but just tracks the foot traffic in and out. First half of the hike has a wide trail and is an easy hike with water crossings. It is also dog friendly but no waste containers ong the trail so remember to pack out what you bring in.”

Burning Bear Trailhead #601

Address: Geneva Rd, Grant, CO 80448, USA

Park

“This is a beautiful trail! I recommend arriving early, like 6am for parking. By 10am parking is just impossible. The trail itself is a less popular trail but there is one right across from it, Abyss, that is extremely popular. Most of the people you will see are there for that trail. The trail is marked very well and has beautiful sights. Dog friendly.”

South Park Farma Dispensary

Health Store

“This is -such- a beautifully set up dispensary. They're fairly new, so not fully stocked for the few visits I've made in, but their selection is impeccable! They only carry brands they've looked into & really researched, which I super love & respect. I can't wait to see this dispensary grow, and I'm SO thankful one finally opened up along 285 that I can access easily.”

“Al's Pits Campground is the perfect spot for group camping. We rented the entire campground for our event. It has a band stand, dance floor, 2 out houses, 1 shower, gazebo, numerous fire pits, running river, pond with paddle boats, dump station, 30 amp and water available. Delicious BBQ, jerky, turkey legs and much more. The best part of all was Mr. Al himself! Such a great, genuine person. He made our celebration the best it could be due to his accomadating nature. Thanks for a great time.”

Address: 49578 US Hwy 285, Grant, CO 80448, USA

Lodging

“A wonderful little diamond in the rough. Arriving in Denver late we drove to Grant so we were out of the city traffic in the morning. Best decision ever, the room was super clean and the bed super comfy. The new owners are in the process of turning the Kenosha Lodge into an even more wonderful place!!! The owners Anastasia and Christopher are amazing and we arrived as guests and left as family! We have stayed twice and will be back again.”

The Shaggy Sheep

Address: 50455 US Hwy 285, Grant, CO 80448, USA

Restaurant

“The food is delicious and the staff friendly. The decor is mountain chic. The atmosphere is clean and inviting. There are slight changes in the menu for dinner which begins at 4pm. Included in the experience are opportunities to shop for handmade hats and scarves and homemade jams. A pristine and professional restaurant is a rare find in the high altitudes of the rural Colorado Rockies. It's worth the drive. Closed Monday through Wednesday.”
